True, I have always have this problem with the office canteens. They pretty much use the same grill for veg as well as meat sandwiches, pizzas etc. I have even tried to educate them manybtimes. But they just don't get it. The thought of meat and it's juices coming in contact with non meat eaters food just puts us off.

She need a clean spoon not separates spoon. She consume the food and not the vessel that served the food. Across India, Dalits were given a separate mug for drinking water, a practice that once evolved out of personal choice. You are absolutely right! I have heard that many American universities have a mandate that kosher food needsvto be prepared in a dedicated vessel and not to be mixed with regular food. Imagine the irony here. Both are meat diets and yet for religious reasons they separate it. But here in india it becomes a joke! As a youngster I used to feel left out for being vegetarian. But now that I am old, I am unapologetic about my food choices, my culture, customs etc. Let those woke lumpens burn!

The same empathy has to be shown in understanding that vegetarian food is a caste sanction and people who eat nonvegetarian food fall below in the hierarchy of caste and looked down upon. One can never know if the disgust is for food or for the lower caste practice of eating nonvegetarian food. Her practice of eating vegetarian food is familial based and caste based. Its not a simple discussion of veg or nonveg. Its about the sense of purity and pollution associated to veg and nonveg food respectively.

Whereas, non vegetarians lack this sense. So, atleast for the sake of conscience non vegetarians should respect vegetarians.

Like with empty stomach and poverty we can't even do basic things and can't even give thought to continue our religious practices. When one can not bring food for children then discriminating food is sin. Whatever available by God's grace should be accepted as food and survived first.

I eat non-veg, mostly chicken & fish atleast 2-3 times in a week & all d cutleries, crockeries, utensils in our house hv been used for cooking,serving & consuming non-veg items. Suppose Sudha Murthy walks into our house & it's meal time & she refuses to use our plates & spoons, coz as per d video, it stresses her out! If u r in my place, how ud u feel? Wudn't u feel offended? This is the kind of attitude that people who supports her are endorsing! This can happen in restaurants, functions & parties too. It's simply endorsing segregation & dat's problematic!
