i also read that prose. it was the first chapter in class 9 book. my 9th session was the last to read that book later english books were changed. indian textbooks should include more of her stories in textbooks. when i first read 'how i taught my grandmother to read' i instantly fell in love with her writing. she uses simple understandable english words. this year i read '3000 stitches' which i recommend you to read😊you are right she inspires people of every generations to be a better human being. she is the example of how to live a simple life even after achieving a lot. it's a really proud moment for all the Indians that she has been awarded Padma Bhushan recently😊

Yes. Life is best when lived as simple as possible. Mrs Murthy reminds me of my late dad who also used to follow the same ethics as her. Their generation are great role models to seek advice and follow 🙏

Considering the opulence she has, she is least concerned about what people in her circle might think about her middle class way of living!! Sudha ma'am has been the only author whose books had kept me hooked as a kid. Never understood complex fictional fantasy based american writing, which was the 'thing' for every teenager. She remains an inspiration for humility and simplicity and knowledge.

She is sucessful in life and a celebrated personality and author, her husband is a billionaire and the founder of Infosys, her daughter is the first lady of Britain, a designer and what not, her son-in-law is the Prime minister of England but the simplicity to which she lives amuses me everyday, she is a source of inspiration to all.

One must interview the employees from top to the lowest rung in their company to know how and what they really are.... Just lectures from her and examples of her simplicity doesn't say much. The people who work for you and with you would know them the best - how kind, compassionate , generous and humble they really are

I first came to know about Sudha Murthy ji when I read an article written by her in the newspaper. Then I bought her book "Gently Falls the Bakula" which is one of the best books I've ever read. She's such an inspiration for young women like me😊

Congrats ma’am on your Padma Bhushan award.. Great talk..!enjoyed listening.. specially.., loved the ‘upgrade’ part. She rightly pointed out.. your ‘upgrade’ might be different and mine may be different. Everyone is expecting upgrading means.. in the sense of money.., wealth and other materialistic pleasures but for me.. it is about search of knowledge.., upgrading that way… Exactly.. so .. the way everyone upgrades themselves will be different. We will.., our mind n heart will go around attracting n wanting things that we don’t have. She has money now.. so may be she would not have materialistic pleasures anymore but till you reach that saturation point.., normal middle class people will want n enjoy these may b.. rt And the important n great!!thing that she pointed out .., was her children’s upbringing. They have sacrificed watching TV for their children’s sake…Also.., it’s a conscious effort to bring up children in a middle class environment .., even with so much wealth arnd…

Not watching tv may not necessarily be a sacrifice. It depends on your thought process actually. Tv is just one form of entertainment like reading books, walking in a park, chatting with friends, etc.
