I am playing catch up with this series as I have a 1949 B31 rigid, but I also have the option of going plunger as I have a spare frame.

For future reference your chaincase slider seal is 180 out, the flat end goes to the rear FYI :-)

How long did it take to complete this 35 min. work in real-time?
@500dbd343 жыл бұрын
Hi, not sure if I have replied to you but the original video files were about 1 -1/2hrs long, I use 4 and 2 times speed and lots of editing, otherwise it would take ages to watch. Thanks B

Hi Brian, is the chamfer you put on the top piston ring just for ease of assembly, or for some other reason?
@500dbd343 жыл бұрын
It was not rebored but new rings fitted, a light chamfer on the top ring clears any lip that may be at the top of the bore. only a very light chamfer or some compression may be lost. Cheers B

hi Brian, when you fit the sliding plate onto its felt gasket, have you bolted it down tight to the case or left it slightly loose so free to slide, I noticed you used loctite on the bolts.
@500dbd342 жыл бұрын
The slider needs to move a bit so i dont overtighten the bolts, I just back them off a bit. Mediun strength Locktight holds them secure but can be undone easily when required. I fitted the slider the wrong way (see comment below) try not to do that. Anyway thanks for the comment though, appeciated. Cheers B

Mr Alfonso will you change the original point's for electronic? If not why not?
@500dbd343 жыл бұрын
This is a 6volt Magneto model and i'm not sure if electronic would work. I want to keep it as original as I can, Thanks for the comment.

Its verynice, I have not seen the head gasket,?
@500dbd343 жыл бұрын
Hi, no head gaskets on these engines but it’s good practice to Lap the head and barrel. Cheers
