Also, I'm not sure if you figured this out yet but druid of the storm's tornado only targets vulnerable bloons. On round 40 it's guaranteed to be used the instant the moab pops because the druid won't use that attack on the moab layer.

Unfortunately the ball itself has a very small hitbox and doesn’t home like the tornado so the freeze chance is still pretty low unless you’re firing down a perfect straight.

If I remember it correctly, the tornado now doesn't target blimps, meaning there's no need to time the upgrade like you did on r40 as it'll just wait till it pops to shoot anyway

Ball lightning is also one of the few attacks that still has infinite pierce, though it doesn’t really matter since it doesn’t do damage.

Just wanted to let you know, I found the longest lasting two TC on the worlds, longest map, ezili an legend of the night got all the way to 261 with my testing. But I’m sure some of the DDT rounds could’ve been optimized. But overall it’s insane how far you can get in chimps on those lengthy maps. Love your content, ISAB.

U wanna know smth cool? Ball of lightnings actually exist irl And they often appear in sugar cane fields, or fields in general And the map isab chose was a corn field, wich makes the lightning balls appear more often

I'm just thinking about how op a druid paragon would be now. Tons of lightning balls that chain and freeze everything, superstorms that could potentially stun and blowback moabs as well as bloons, like 10 thorns per volley with pretty good moab damage from the bottom path, and then constant thorn damage across the map with extra thorns that could potentially take down moabs from the midpath. And to top it all off a money source from an ability similar to jungles bounty but better and potentially gives lives too.

Perhaps, if they were to make the change to the MK again, they could make the MK so that it slows MOABs, much like how Ice Monkeys work when they're able to hit MOABs?

I used 402 Druid on dark path for magic only and it was surprisingly really really good, especially against the rushes.

ball lightning is one of my favorite answers for dense ceram rounds like 63, 76, and 78. it doesn't get used much because things like recursive or maelstrom are just so much cheaper, but if i already have a tornado druid i usually get ball lightning to carry those rounds

I just now noticed that superstorm fires multiple ball lightning projectiles in a similar vein to the thorns from earlier upgrades, does it still have thorns? or are they just replaced by ball lightning entirely?

This gave me the thought of a 0-0-0 dart monkey winning CHIMPS with support from a 0-3-0 monkey village, some 0-1-0 villages to block regrow, an army of 4-0-0 druids, and a 5-0-0 druid, with all druids modified to do 0 damage but retaining all of their other abilities

Remember when superstorm was 90K? And tornadoes didn't have any homing? And the MK was for the ball to have a 50% chance to freeze? Yeah, this tower's come a long way, and it's freeze gimmick is finally just about usable... but only with MK

The tornado Druid now no longer throughs a tornado if it can't blow back any bloons, (if only a MOAB is in range)

i think i beat scrapyard chimps using ezili and a top path druid as most of my defense for ages. granted its scrapyard so its already super easy but i was shocked by how long the top path druid was able to carry alongside ezili

Superstorm has always been super fun. I'd love a slight t4 price nerf but adding freeze on the lightning without mk, that would be so nice

giving ball lighting lazer shock DoT would be super good. Blowing the bloons back and having them take an extra damage tick would not only make sense, but would actually make it a decent dps tower

laser shock DoT wouldn't really help ball lightning that much. It already excels at bloons with massive aoe damage and the tornado blowback. atm I would say it's only overpriced compared to cheaper bloon defense like recursive cluster or moar glaives. Although ball lightning doesn't fall off quite as hard as those two when super cerams start coming in due to its blowback. You'd still probably be better off taking recursive cluster + glue or ice in the long run for cheaper.

Fun Fact: Ball Lightning is the only freeze that does no damage, meaning it's the only way to see a frozen purple bloon. (Source, me)

To be honest, I am fine if it does not feel consistent in CHIMPS. The game has many game modes and every tower has its use cases. I like the fact that they are pretty good if you can use the druid of vengance buff and MK.

I love comboing the ball of lightning with sauda bc after a few upgrades she does extra damage to debuffed bloons. So the druid keeps the bloons in range while debuffing them and doing a good bit of damage

Just by chance I happened to do a chimps with just druids, Obyn and village, not really a challenge, just a casual fun run, and while superstorm is really cool and badass (like all 5th tier druids), it's sort of infuriating if you don't have it at the back with heavy damagers up front. Watching superstorm deal with 97 for 10 minutes dealing chip damage and throwing the damage sponges back is torture.

Just a day or so ago I started relying on storm droods a lot more and goodness, the blowback is mostly amazing. The ball lightning has one huge drawback: freeze. Dont play well with my sharp towers!

People don't really appreciate at all... The tier 4 is a terrible 10k+ mid game tower that has no moab damage and the tier 5 is a 70k+ tower that doesn't dies to r100 unless you spend like 30k. All in all it's just a very bad path

@@monke0175I think the save up at the end shows that superstorm is decent enough if you can afford it, tiers 3 and 4 are pretty meh though. Druids in general are much better outside of chimps though because of xx2

@@monke0175 what it lacks in moab damage, it makes up for by stalling and killing most regular bloons by itself. Remains as a pretty nice super ceram staller in lategame too. I was able to get dark champion on erosion chimps with ball lightning, dark knight, and a village as pretty much my only saveup. It also pairs great with moab shredder spikes, or plasma accelerator, really anything that excels at killing moabs. And if superbuffed with poplusts, alch, village, and obyn (his only somewhat good use case lol, +1 moab damage for all of ball lightning's attacks) it shreds through moabs quite easily too and saves up for superstorm with little effort outside of true experts. It's not an amazing tower, but it is still good at what it does and my personal favorite
