Their Japanese songs are probably my favorite, both stylistically and performance -wise. I've noticed that their Japanese songs tend to be more vocal heavy, with even the raps being more melodic, which suits my overall taste. (Don't get me wrong, this rap line has made me appreciate rap like I never did before...) But I really love all their Japanese melodies, and the vocal line shines, especially Jin. When I first entered the fandom, there was a meme that I think is very accurate. BTS: We've got a new Japanese song... Jin: Hold my beer...

I get it, with Hobi, I know full well he actually has one of the most stable voices on the team- but I still get a frisson of surprise (and delight!) every time! And now we’re so close to Jin going away for a bit, I’m really glad we can sit here together and revel some of his finest ever vocals. What a man.

Did you notice that this is actually a mix of two different performances? I believe they're both from the Japan 4th Muster but on different days. The footage mostly uses the performance where Jin wears suspenders -- but that one didn't focus on him during his high notes! So the maker of this video cut in footage from the other day (no suspenders), which *did* focus on those amazing vocals. I'm so glad they did because those are moments no one should miss. 😍 You're right on the money, too -- their original Japanese songs hit differently, somehow cleaner, higher, and brighter in tone.

God, this song is one of my favourites but somehow I forget about it. They have too many songs that are my favourites!! I have a playlist for each of the members with their solo stuff, unit songs, etc but there's also a handful of full band songs where one member just owns it. They become associated with that member in my head, and so they go on the playlists too. Crystal Snow is on my Jin playlist.

If you don't know by now, recent news is that BTS military service/conscription is confirmed, they are going, with Jin assumed to be the first, most likely by end of this year. And for those that are not aware, Crystal Snow, at least here in the video, is sung in Japanese, not Korean, because it is primarily targeted for Japan ARMY. But great to see their singing performance because practically all of them have never sung professionally (nor sung at all) before they signed with BigHit/Hybe. And since BTS know the Japanese language, I would love to see a collaboration between BTS & Band-Maid, that would really help get the Maid's even more public exposure because of BTS's already global "domination". Is that a Maid pun, because the Maids can learn a thing or two about world domination by BTS. Genre-wise, they could do a song in rock-metal-rap, which would also help circle it back to Seo Taiji, the Father of K-Pop, who inadvertently ushered in the KPop idol industry as a metal-hiphop musician 3 decades ago (who BTS collaborated with in 2017). Jin & Miku can share high notes, heh. Trivia: BTS & Band-Maid both debuted in 2013, a few months apart.
