I loved ATI techdemos of that era, and there was usually a screensaver version included. I used this one even after I got my fancy new 9500 Pro

I remember these old screen savers and tech demos very fondly. For the 8500 i also remember a metallic looking seascape with rolling waves - great times!!

Super fun. I never had an 8500, but I had a Radeon 9100 128 MB, which was a die shrink of the same card. That's the card I first played Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic on.

Back then, I think I had the 9500 and I had the version that could be softmodded to run as a 9700. I wanted to run the Dawn demo, the one where the fariy walks on a branch. They had programmed it to use NV_register_combiner2 or 3 and so, the ATI cards did not have that feature. It took years for OpenGL 2.0 to come along and along with it, GLSL which was universal.

Very Nice... play it on a 4K 75" TV :-) very relaxing... Just upload the tune and bubbles without the RADEON logo in the corner, and it is perfect for playing in the living room as a relaxing screen saver.

i always liked 3D screensavers but i never liked that they made the gpu get super hot, like it was a waste of electricity. If only they added frame limiters or something to avoid that happening....
