Hello. From Ph. Is it neccesary to add custard powder? We don’t have the custard powder here in out place. Or what can be substitute?
@BubbleTeaKristin
@BubbleTeaKristin 2 жыл бұрын
Hello 👋🏼 I went to video Part 1 where I show how to make the recipe in detail and looked for the same question from someone else. 😅 Here was my reply: Hello! Good question. I found this online: "If a recipe lists custard powder and you don't have any, you can make some simple swaps to achieve the same effect. For each tablespoon of custard powder that's called for in your recipe, you can make your own custard mix with 1 tablespoon of cornstarch plus 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and a pinch of fine salt. You can also use vanilla pudding mix, if you have some on hand. Simply swap in a one to one ratio. In other words, use 1 tablespoon of vanilla pudding in place of each tablespoon of custard powder." Personally i would go for the vanilla pudding mix... but either would be find. It's used as a binding agent/thickener. Hope that helps!

Hello Kristin! I'm going to start a small business of bubble waffle and donuts and i really want to do good. i really enjoyed your recipe but didn't quite get it what is the custard role. also can i use cornstarch as it is very difficult to find tapioca flour in Angola?
@BubbleTeaKristin
@BubbleTeaKristin 3 жыл бұрын
Hi. Wow! All the best to you!👏🏼 For the first question: The custard powder is good because it makes it creamier without adding more liquid. Custard is a very unique flavor in general... You could omit that amount, which is quite small, or simply put in something like dried milk powder instead, which would be advisable. Here's what I found online for your second question: "They're quite similar. The main difference in tapioca flour and cornstarch is how they are sourced. As you might have guessed, cornstarch is sourced from corn, whereas tapioca flour comes from the root of the cassava plant." Hope that helps!

Hiya! There's no branded ones that I'm familiar with... I've just purchased them online via reputable websites which either a supplier has them in stock in the UK or imported directly from China. You'll want to get one that has a non-stuck surface, and also when it arrives, we have something here in the UK called a PAT test I think it is... where an electrician comes in and checks that it is safe to use - they'll change out the plug that goes into the wall as well and fit it with something more permanent and safer too.

Hi Kristin, I’m working on opening my own bubble waffle ice cream shop. I’m getting paperwork done and practicing how to make the perfect bubble waffle. Luckily I found your videos about how to make it (I subscribed your channel immediately too ^^) because I love your recipe much more than the recipe that comes with the machine manual book. Stupid question, how come my bubble waffles don’t have any smell at all while I cook it? My family told me that it will be so good if the store would be full of waffle smell. Also, I’ve been practicing without a fan, is it why my bubble waffles are not as crispy as yours? Your videos are very informative and I like the way you explain safety tips inside a store. Thank you very much ❤️

@Steven & @Quan - the bubble waffle recipe for this video is in part 1 which can be found here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bNmDqNJj3MrXeIk.html Congrats Quan on your achievement so far!!! 👏🏼 If you're looking to get an 'egg' smell, I would recommend Free Range and/or Organic eggs. With my waffle recipe, including these special eggs, the shop always would smell like heaven! From my personal experience, some sort of fan is necessary at the end of cooking, before you put toppings on it. This makes it crispy and stops the cooking process. Thanks for the comments - hope that helps 😁

Hi! I never bought any particular brand, as I don't recall there being a famous reputable company for these machines. I did a simple Google search to find a company locally that sold what I was looking for at a good price. (non-stick coating, easy & safe to use, etc) The machines will need to be re-fitted for your shop anyways, or atleast your electrical outlet plug probably... so just focus on good price for a company which has good reviews.

Can you make some and get it ready for the customer when they come in or it is not a good idea
@BubbleTeaKristin
@BubbleTeaKristin 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mike, If you've got an ongoing turn-over of customers every minute or two, then yes... just like a burger place you can start the waffle, and have it cool for 1-minute while the customers are constantly placing their orders while putting on the toppings at that point, etc... But I would highly suggest not allowing the waffles to cool for more than a minute before adding toppings, because they will become either soggy or stiff tasting, depending on the weather. If customers are not ordering every minute, I would only suggest each waffle being made to order so it's as fresh as possible and best tasting. Hope this makes sense. 👍🏼

That's a good question. You may need to experiment with this. I recall them getting soggy. So for example with delivery, unfortunately by the time it arrives to the customer it is not crispy anymore... So unless the heat lamp system has a extractor fan type thing to prevent humidity, there is a good chance they will become less crisp. Make sure your waffle maker is on and already heated up. Once you pour on the batter and spread it out - set two timers: Timer 1: 3:30 Timer 2: 1:30 Turn it over. Hit start. When Timer 2 goes off, turn in back over to the original position. When Timer 1 goes off, open it up. You can optionally turn off the machine if you want to save money and don't have any more waffles to make. Hope this helps!

Can you please show us how to properly take care and clean the machine? The ones at our shop keep breaking after some time and we can't figure out what is wrong ...Thanks
@BubbleTeaKristin
@BubbleTeaKristin 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mariela, I don't know much about the actual machines themselves. Personally I would contact the company you purchased them from for assistance or a refund. Alternatively start purchasing your machines from a different company; either a cheap one that you can throw them away or get them repaired when they're breaking, or a company which will offer you a return/refund/or repair. For a daily clean, we used the wooden stick and wet cloth. For weekly cleaning, you'll need to consult the manual. (Some can be cleaned with baking soda, vinegar and water mix, but others cannot.) Hope that helps.

Hey Kristin! we've been having problems with the oil spray as it causes spots of the bubble waffle to not cook as fast. We end up with spots that are undercooked and spots that are overcooked. Have you seen this before?
@BubbleTeaKristin

🤔 Hmm... We didn't have this issue. Is your main machine non-stick? And have you experimented with different types of oils yet? Also depending on the age of the machine, could it possibly be that the heating element is not distributing the heat correctly across all of the areas...?
@nxdevera
@nxdevera 3 ай бұрын
@@BubbleTeaKristin Yeah we're using a similar brand to what you're using in the video but they're a little old so the nonstick is wearing a bit. without the oil the waffle cooks nicely but sticks as we open the machine and have to press down on it to make it not separate. We used PAM non-stick spray which uses a vegetable oil if my research serves me correctly!
@BubbleTeaKristin
@BubbleTeaKristin 3 ай бұрын
@@nxdevera you could try also using a plastic basting brush. Keep a small cup of oil and apply it that way by dabbing it on. It's not as quick, but maybe that will help. . I think maybe also try extra virgin olive oil, avocado oil, coconut oil, etc. Buy a small amount of different oils and try different methods of application each day. Keep track of the results for the day, do a different oil and application each day and look at the overall results. 👍🏻 Worst case scenario, get a new non-stick machine from China. It'll be cheaper than local for most people... Or see about professionally getting "Teflon" or similar reapplied to help with the issue. These are just ideas of course. But whatever you choose to do, definitely feel free to keep us updated as to what worked best! 😇

How to make vary the flavour of Chocolate, Matcha and Red Velvet, what needs to be done
@BubbleTeaKristin
@BubbleTeaKristin 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Ratna, My suggestion would be: when you pour the mix into your measuring jug, you mix about a half or full tablespoon of whatever you want to be mixed into your batter. Stir it up real quick and then simply pour it onto the machine. This is great for things like sprinkles, chocolate powder, and matcha powder. But if you have larger items like mochi or if you want larger Oreo chunks, then put half of the batter on the machine first, then put the topping evenly distributed on the waffle maker, then pour the rest of the waffle on top and smooth it out. Hope that helps 😃

I am trying to introduce bubble waffle to my business. I have bought the ready mix Belgium waffle mix from a supplier which most the dessert shops use for the Belgium waffle but my waffle don’t cook inside no matter how long I cook it for or at what temperature, it’s always uncooked inside. The park cake mix do work better but still little uncooked. The waffle maker is commercial grade and new so the plate is fine. What is the reason for this? Any tips for me? @bubble Kristy
@BubbleTeaKristin
@BubbleTeaKristin 11 ай бұрын
I never personally worked with powder Belgium waffle mix, so I don't know what sort of machine It needs. However usually Belgian waffles are very thin in their waffle maker, with only a small amount of doughy middle section. Where the bubble waffle has big balls of doughy sections. So actually perhaps that waffle mix will not work very well with a bubble waffle maker... I also have 'part one' of this video where I share with you the recipe I used in my shops, if you want to take a look at that and consider making it from scratch instead...?

@@stoyanstoyanov2236 Batter for a bubble waffle machine is different than a regular waffle machine. If you're doing savory waffle, probably go for a pre-made batter powder. The flavor of the meat will be so strong, the flavor of the waffle batter doesn't need to shine though. 👍🏼 Bubble waffle batter is a stand alone product, specifically for bubble waffle machine. So maybe best to look into alternative inexpensive batter option for your savory type.
