Winter is nigh, at least winter weather! And so if you haven't yet figured out how you'll handle snowfall with your tractor, let us try and persuade you to consider our most popular tractor attachment sold every year (besides the Speeco E-Hitch), the HLA Snow Pusher. It's way, way better than a bucket, but obviously it ain't free. So have a watch, and see if you think a snow pusher is the right tool for you this winter.

Good Works Tractors is happy to be sponsored by Rim Guard Solutions! This is perhaps the most well-known ballast brand on the market today. Rim Guard goes right inside your tires, so it's out of the way, it doesn't freeze, and doesn't corrode. It's made from natural materials, so it's safe around livestock and pets if it spills out. Rim Guard liquid ballast adds more weight to the back side of your tractor improving stability, loader performance, and power to the ground. Find your closest dealer at bit.ly/3d0whX0

Great discussion. Most tractor owners will already have a bucket so it hard to justify a new attachment. Confidence that you are not destroying your driveway is a big factor for a snow pusher. Day after day of snow gets overwhelming and leads to accidents with trying to hurry and deciding where to place new snow. The wider blade also helps speed clearing. You will know it need one of these after a season so plan ahead and know how you plan to clear with the existing bucket. Measure your bucket - does it fit between equipment, trees and landscaping? Clear your yard now - simple snow clearing is safer. Don't wait to hit something that you forgot was there - now covered in snow. I have done it all bushes, chains doormats and my wife's flower bed.

Couple of the funnest things to hit. Man hole cover, granite curb. Ouch. I used a 10 foot pusher on a 7 yard truck pushing snow into the ocean. Drove over it once, front wheels were 6 feet in the air.

Yesterday I received the HLA 1500 72" with back drag, and a SpeeCo Cat 1 quick hitch from Good Works Tractors. The HLA snow pusher is built very well, and heavy duty. Courtney followed up right away with a recommendation for my tractor. Ordering was simple, and they shipped out quickly. The trucking company, Dayton Freight Lines, called me to set up a day, and the driver who made the delivery was professional and friendly. Very positive experience from start to finish!

I prefer plows for long narrow driveways, especially if you have a lighter tractor. However, if i had a relatively short driveway with a large parking area, I definitely would have opted for a snow pusher.

Great video, snow removal contractor here, we run all skidsteers for snow removal We have pushers and buckets and honestly we prefer to run massive snow buckets with replaceable cutting edges The are just a lot more versatile and allow us to scrap up pack when and where required, I do agree a pusher does a lot of things better then a bucket But the right bucket makes all the difference

I have a kioti cs2220 with an hla1500 snow pusher and rear blower. Works very well. Tires are loaded, blower adds a good amount of weight. if snow is deep enough, you will need chains, you can't get a subcompact heavy enough to push deep snow. The blower on the back takes that out but is much slower. Where I am, we don't get too many storms with really deep accumulation, so pusher works quite well. I have chains but have so far not needed them, fairly level ground and enough weight to push both pusher and blower. As this tractor is only 22hp with 16 at blower, you don't move very fast with blower going. I usually push all the snow into a windrow and do one or two passes with blower to get rid of it. I am on gravel and have to lift both blower and pusher off the ground a little bit early season to stop gravel pickup. would like to get a quick connect plow to use when the ground finally freezes so I do not have to adjust blower or pusher. leaves about 1/2" of snow on gravel driveway. Blade could then clean it up. Maybe next year.

Having used both extensively for snow removal, in the long run I prefer a bucket. Primarily due to the ability to stack much higher than you can with a pusher. When I was working, most often the pusher was used to pile snow for the bucket to put in it's final place.
@PurpleNovember
@PurpleNovember 7 ай бұрын
What tractor are you using? Did you try pushing the snow up the pile with the pusher? I could stack snow much higher and faster with a pusher. It can be a bit of a learning curve but it is doable.

@@justanotherviewer52 Thought you were probably using a loader, they behave a little different than a tractor with a loader. The new pushers for the loaders can stack pretty good if they want to spend the money. I’ve helped build some snow buckets that could out stack the best pushers with skilled operators. It could also fill a dump truck in about three buckets

If you plow your pile into a ramp shape and it packs/freezes right you can just drive right up and off the back and stack just as high with a pusher IMO?

I preferred a big snow bucket over a pusher. We were using skid steers on all hard surfaces. Maybe another video you could compare them instead of a standard size bucket

I love my HLA, worth every penny in bad snow years for me. Last year was atrocious and I would’ve lost it without the HLA. My biggest downside is that it cuts potential hours off my tractor and thus missed seat time :) That’s an upside too though, in terms of saving hours on the meter.

Living in town, I currently don’t need to move snow with my Kubota LX2610 on our 24 acre ag land, but we’re planning to build in 2024 so will need to figure out something before winter 2024-25. Before watching this, I assumed you were going to add discussion about using edge tamers with a FEL bucket to add efficiency and protectiveness. Like everything, edge tamers likely have their pros and cons. I’m leaning toward the HLA snow pusher.

I will stack snow with my loader bucket but mostly I use my box blade with a hydraulic top link and it works great for me. 🤷‍♂️ It’s basically a snow puller with a scraping blade that you can adjust how aggressive it cuts, with the added benefit of being able to also push snow in reverse so rarely need to turn around. With the box blade you can easily see how close you are to a garage door since you are looking down on it from the seat. That is a lot easier to me than trying to judge how close you are trying to back drag with a snow pusher way out there on the loader. Biggest negative is having to look over your shoulder more. It may not be as feasible for subcompact tractors in snow they can’t easily drive through.

any advice for getting the snow pusher feet to not dig in on unfrozen gravel? are you using it in float or not? maybe angle the feet a bit would help not dig in? haven't had enough snow here to try everything..just tried a little bit when I got mine and found the feet really dug in while in float..thanks
