The most famous and popular Christmas market in Budapest is the fair located at Vörösmarty Tér (Vörösmarty square). This is located in the heart of Budapest, at the end stop of the yellow metro line sharing the name of the square, and at the end of the shopping street of Budapest, Váci Utca.

It has been a tradition to have a big stage at the square. At the stage, there have been daily concerts, folklore programs, and similar programs with cultural value. This was removed in 2022, and it is not sure whether it will return later or not. You will not be bored, however, as there are lots of stalls you should visit and a little train for kids at the square. The little train is cool for the youngest kids, and the best thing is that it is entirely free. The train was first introduced in 2022, and we are happy to have it confirmed that it will return in 2023 as well.

one thing that strikes me is that there are no concrete roadblocks around these markets in Hungary like in Germany, no muslims here to disrupt christmas celebrations, Greetings from Holland

Hi, it depends of a lot of things, where to buy food/drinks, some restaurants are super expensive, some are cheap... the Christmas market is extremely expensive, I wouldn't recommend to buy food there..thanks

Go Philippines we start Christmas decorations and lights by September all the streets and houses and mall 😅 that’s called culture traditional😊 and the festival lights on December 😅 and we go to the church 6am in the morning start the mass the church it’s very crowded😅 every Christmas season Filipinos adopt this big celebration traditional.

I was at this place about 3 weeks ago,I find it remarkable what a camera video can do. In the majority of videos on KZfaq, we see welcoming and smiling people in Budapest , youtubers should stop embellishing things to the extreme when it's not the truth , so yes Budapest is a pretty city but the welcome is absolutely execrable ! , the worst is on public transport if it is discovered that you do not speak Hungarian. where you may find that you are frankly not welcome in the way people look you and behave , in the tourist streets at the entrance to the restaurants you have touts who welcome you with a smile but once you have crossed the threshold of the restaurant you are "you're only seen as a wallet with legs", just good for paying for the drinks or food you order, and do not expect to have a smile or positive gestures on for your . you will quickly understand that having the status of tourist even if you are respectful "you are not welcome !!! " , you are simply a wallet with legs !!! .

Thanks for the comment, actually I very much agree with you. However, all the places are like this where many people's salary are depending on tourism. Same same, absolutely. But I got you, here in Hungary the welcoming is not always working as it should be. I hope you still liked you stay here. Merry Christmas

@@tomsandroy I thank you for your answer and I would like to tell you that I also completely agree with you , it is true that salaries in Hungary are not huge but the cost of living is also lower "this explains that", I noticed that there were a lot of tourists there, a lot of French and English speakers. too many tourists in a small town like Budapest might annoy people , but I would like to emphasize that when you want to organize tourism in your city or in your country it is important to maintain a good reception among tourists It’s good for business and it’s also good for people’s morale. That said, I would like to point out that I had a good stay in budapestapart from this relational problem with the Hungarians in Budapest. and I want to make it clear that I respect the work you do in producing a superb video for us, and that I know the work it takes to produce such a video.

Thanks a lot, I hope you liked my video. Hungarian salaries are very low (maybe the lowest in the EU) and prices are not cheap anymore, this year we had 25% of inflation, which is terrible. Have a nice day, thanks :)
