Жыл бұрынIts time to get the budget civic back up and running today. Ill get the motor fully reassembled and started for the first time after the rebuild. Whenever I tear an engine this far apart there is always a little fear at that first startup. Enjoy todays video. Next video its time to start tackling all the little issues to get this car working like new!

thanks for the videos . i have a d16y8 in my 97 civic and i think it was possibly slapping piston rings aswell. thank you for the info .

I love this series. Curious to know if a 1.8L (2008 Civic) should have it's chain replaced at 150,000 miles. Cheers.

From my experience with the 1.8 civics I usually only have to replace them when they throw a code for timing which is pretty rare. However if I do a timing Chain cover reseal on one over 100k miles I will look at the chain and measure the tensioner to see if it needs replacing.

I drove my 07 Civic LX to 402,000 miles and never did the chain. I didn't hear chain/guide slap until that point. When I sold it for $1200 I told the guy he should plan to do it.
