I'm down in Tampa Bay Florida and every DT I go in has at least half of what there usually are. Shelves are bare. They got rid of aisles too. Aldi and Walmarts are too. It has been really subtle but it is so obvious. I'm alarmed that people are still clueless.

More and more of the middle class and above are shopping at Dollar tree here in Florida. Our state has the highest insurance prices in the nation and our groceries cost twice as much as many states in the North and Midwest I see from other KZfaq channels and friends

I am looking forward to shopping again. Pantry has been a lifesaver while recovering from knee replacement surgery. Six weeks using pantry and freezer. My daughter has picked up some perishables for me but could have made it without it. People having stock isn't just for SHTF.😅

I had Total Shoulder Reversal Replacement a few months ago. Couldn't have survived without my pantry and pre made frozen dinners. Just had to have my son open up items that I would need for a week at a time. So glad to be a prepper enthusiast !

SHTF could be so many different things for us all. I have had to have emergency surgery and my stock pile was a lifesaver for us. I know what you mean.

We had the flu go thru the house. 3 adults 5 kids for 6 weeks. It was so nice to not have to leave the house the two weeks the adults had it. Yes, meds, food, drinks. We were good ❤❤

Had a total knee replacement end of July. At 65.working FT, after 12 yrs of body breaking down because of the knee, I FINALLY broke down and cried uncle. OMGOSH! I've been reborn.!!

I love canning beans, I cannot cook beans to save my life they are always not right. When I learned how to can dry beans it was a God send. Today I canned 36 pints of pinto beans tomorrow will be black beans and so on all week. Thank you for teaching me about canning beans.

Last week my dollar tree had 10 to 15 people from other stores there helping clear out the back room. Keeping the store stocked is difficult when you do not have staff. I am in Oklahoma.

Those Hungry Jack hashbrown potatoes are $1.73 at my Walmart. My H‑E‑B is higher too. Good deal at Dollar Tree. Our stores in south central Texas have not gone down yet.

At Dollar Tree, I love to get cans of Margaret Holmes Lima beans, Collards, Okra/Tomato/Corn and Campbell Tomato soup, throw in together/heat up. I have several meals for $6.25 and tastes sooo good.

That is what shrunk with Margaret Holmes, starting last year was the variety. I've seen okra &tomato,the limas and the boiled peanuts. I stocked cases of zucchinni and tomatoes, the potatos and the stewed tomatoes in 2019 and 2020. Now they are gone.

I'm planning on going to Walmart in the next couple of days to see if they have the holiday sales like last year. I heard that they and Aldi were having specials. I also saw whete someone posted that Kroger was having Green Giant vegetables for $.49 starting tomorrow (11/1). I haven't checked the ad to verify.

Green Giant canned veggies part of the buy 6 get 50 cents off each. Making them 49cents each. This is a fact. On Tuesday(night before the sale starts) Kroger will have a preview of their upcoming ad for the sale that starts on Wednesday. My twin saved me a trip to the Kroger by me. She called at 8am and she (and only 4 other shoppers in the store) to let me know NOT to go to this Kroger as she grabbed the green beans(only 16 on the shelf) but they had plenty of corn. She purchased 20 cans of this item. That was ALL the store had as far as variety. I'm stopping at one on my way to work and casing their shelves out to see what veggies are actually part of this sale. Could be just the corn and green beans.

Wow! The DT near me has a policy that NO FOOD is left in the back. Everything must be on the shelves and available to the customer. The shelves were very full.

Nobody to stock shelves but ppl can stand around and panhandle....able bodied young men at that. Saw one guy last week standing with his sign and he had a stack of burgers from BK beside him and his cellphone was a whole lot newer than mine. I truly try not to be cynical but sometimes it's hard.

At the one closest to us, they seem to prioritize non food things like seasonal decorations and crafts first to be stocked. When I was there about a week ago, there was an elderly woman who worked there, she had a stack of food boxes to unpack and she looked tired. She said it’s hard because we don’t have enough help.

We have 4 Dollar Trees within a 30 minute drive and it's funny the differences in them. All but one is fully stocked and clean with a large food area. The other looks like it's been looted every time I go in! They don't all carry the same things either. We're in Texas so some of what you show we don't have yet, but I start watching and it usually shows up about 2 weeks later. You give me some great things to watch for!

we have that same with Dollar General out in the country within a certain mile radius, and the ones that are the corporate stores are so much more well stocked in the franchises, but have seen some corporate stores that are bad too... bathrooms not working nobody behind the counter even when you go to self check out, nobody comes up there's that mean people could walk out with just about anything they wanted which I know is stealing, but it could happen easy

Note: real cinnamon is layered bark from the tree. The other "fake" one isn't. Look close for the real one.

Look for CEYLON cinnamon. Anything else is not really cinnamon from what I've read.

I went to my local dollar tree in CT over the weekend and there are some holes in the food section , but i did find baking cocoa, pillsbury yellow cake mix, canned sweet potatoes, pasta and rice.

Hi Jinne! I love your stock ups! Thank you for knowing that one serving of legumes and 2 servings of grain is a complete protein. So many people think that legumes are a protein. You have to eat them with 2 servings of grain.

Check around your DT’s to see if some of the items are now $1.00. All of the spices are $1.00 and a lot of canned goods. The Goya beans, Libby mandarin oranges, Libby pineapple, manwich to name a few. Big help in preparing!

My Dollar Tree had very little of their grocery items. I only picked up a couple of spices, 2 qrt cartons of milk, 1 bag of lentils and 1 bag of rice. Shelf stable milk is really hard to find now.

I have never seen the whole milk at my store. The 2% has a BBD January 2024. That's why I haven't ordered any. You don't know the BBD.

I love their Campbell's tomato soup. Sometimes times they have Cream of mushroom and chicken soup. I love the mushrooms in a jar. You also can get big candy bars in the candy isle. I get the dark chocolate.Some times they have cool whip.

Glad you mentioned the beans (12oz vs. 16oz). I noticed the same with the "pound" bags of frozen shrimp at Wal-Mart this past weekend. 12 oz.....but the "count per bag" on front is still for 16oz. 😠

It seems as though dt can only concentrate on one area at a time. Its the seasonal stuff or the medical stuff or food stuff but never all 3 at the same time. One thing I've noticed at my dt, that never used to happen, is the employees dragging out 3 or 4 of those carts piled high with boxes and then leaving them sit. I remember when K Mart was open and did the same thing. Anyway it doesn't make for a pleasant shopping experience. Thanks for sharing.

I went to our Dollar Tree today. It was super busy. Yes the food section was really picked over. I have seen that at Aldi and other places too. I was thinking that more people are shopping at Aldi and Dollar Tree because of the increase in food prices. I don't see it getting better. Best to get it while you can.

I saw someone else say that $ 🎄 had can items back at 1$, I was in not my local store but still $🎄 &the diced potato,mixed vegetables and few others were 1$. I got a case so you should look for them

The dollar Tree I frequent the food was stocked last week. They had Jiffy Cornbread for 75¢ the box says trial size but its the same size as always. I add 1/2 t. Baking powder to fluff it up a little. Its the first of the month and as you say it's crazy times. I bet stock on shelves will be low when I go tomorrow. Hope I find the salt and seasonings you showed.

I always look for non gmo and organic ....and pay attention to the ingredients on baking items because they love to add aluminum to them which is linked to Alzheimer's.

I have never found the would care kit, the kinders or the cinnamon sticks at my dollar tree :( but I keep looking. But tonight I found 28 oz size hunts no salt added diced tomatoes and was happy even Walmart brand canned tomatoes are 1.52

Dollar Tree stores in the Manchester NH area are well stocked with food. I still order cases of food items each month for my food storage, and pick it up at the local store. I even have things for the local food pantry.

I'm on the north shore (MA) and the one in our town has been a disaster for about a year...pallets on dollies, half stocked shelves. I drive 30+ minutes to another one that's more organized and has more variety. We tend to do better there and find more of what we can use.

Just a quick FYI...the Dollar Tree has those salts for only $1 near me. Dollar General has the Vigo rices and Hungry Jacks for only $1 each if you have one near by you. I shop them both!!

The Vigo yellow rice is good adding a can of chicken to it. I drain the broth from the can and add the water to it according to the directions on the package.

Giant Dry Lima beans are the most nutritious of all dried beans. I don't know if Dollar Tree carries them, but Walmart does.

Our Dollar Trees seem to be cutting back on food item and filling the shelves with other items. We have 3 DT’s within a 25 mile radius. Now and then I’ll make the rounds to see what’s there.

Dollar trees here in Central Florida are quite empty of food items. None of our local stores have the $5 items,except for the freezer. I think more and more people have to buy their food just to get by each week.

Often you are able to pick items that aren't in my Dollar Tree Stores here in East Tennessee. I assume that different regions have different distribution centers. Never have seen boxed matches in East Tennessee! I enjoy your weekly updates.

yes, I was just in one of our Dollar Tree stores last week. I love their ginger cookies that come in a brown bag. They are crisp and so good. Well, I got 2 bags of the cookies but the shelves there were certainly a bit bare. Lots of holes and emptiness. I was surprised. Its probably the most empty I have seen their food shelves. Was very picked over. I will go in again soon to see if they got some more things in that I want to get. Thanks for this video. Interesting for sure.

I went to a DT today and it looked like a tornado had ripped thru it! Stuff in the floor… shelves weren’t anywhere near neat or organized. It took me awhile to get what I went in for and sure didn’t stick around to shop more.

I live in SW Washington, in a smaller town and my DT is always pretty empty of items. I’ve been trying to get the dehumidifiers for a few months. They always say they get them but people buy a bunch at a time. There is one in a town about 25 minutes away so I’m going to go there and see it’ll it’s any better.

My food section is filled, not a lot of variety though, but have never really shopped their for food. Their freezer was pretty skimpy.

Ugh i bought 8 count em..EIGHT of those texas cornbread a couple months ago and for the life of me i can't remember where i put them! I write down in the front of my folder how many of items and in the back is where i stored them. Somehow i didn't write it in the back. Every Halloween i make chili and cornbread...just chili this year humfft!

With the coconut, would you recommend vacuum seal as is or dry toast in an oven first? I'll be doing 5# of it.
