2 boxes of the Jiffy pie crust , 2 cans of chicken, a can of mixed vegetables, and a can of cream of chicken soup make a really delicious Chicken Pot Pie. It cooks super well in a covered dutch oven in the traditional oven or outside on a fire or with bbq coals. :)

If you load the store ap on your phone, you can search "food under a $1.00" and it will bring it up for you. I do this for my pick up orders. That's the easy way so you don't have to go up and down the isles and look at the price tags. Also, the quart size GV broths, they usually go down to $1.00 around for Thanksgiving and Christmas. That's when to stock up on that as much as you can.

Yes, definitely noticed. Most all processed foods, soups to s nacks have this in it, all brands. The only ones that I don't see it in is organic, at least it's not on label. You even have to watch tuna, canned chicken they contain a soy meal(tuna)and Swanson brand canned chicken has bioengineered on there label now. I know organic is more expensive but I like to know what I'm eating. Thankfully I had some things before prices started really getting out of hand. I do one big Walmart order once a month and pick up things at the store as i need but I will get 80-100 worth of great value pantry. I always get two of each veggies, jar of peanut butter, a few pounds of pasta (I got so much stored right now) get a big bag of rice and I do different dried beans 1 pound bags. You can do alot with even just 50 bucks is what I started doing the beginning of this year for my pantry. Last couple months I've been doing 120 just on pantry stuff to put up. 20 of that is for two 4 packs of canned chicken for 10 bucks. Been stocking up more on canned meat lately. Also I live alone so I don't have to get stuff for a family but walmart great value is a fast cheap way to get a pantry stocked quick.

It's good to get little cans of tomato paste because you can store a lot in a small space. Just add water and herbs to make pasta sauce. Much cheaper than buying jars of pasta sauce. Add it to soup, etc. And the taste is more concentrated.

Thanks Jinnie. I like the canned tomatoes that include peppers, onions and celery because I use that combination if I make crock pot Swiss steak. Some companies overdo adding too much salt so we avoid those brands but a little is ok for most people. If you’re making soup or stew you probably don’t want to discard the liquid from the canned vegetables, they include the juices from the vegetables and can add flavor and nutrients. Canned beans save a lot of time soaking and cooking especially if the power is out or you’re rationing water. Look for the clearance rack or close out aisles for more bargains.

I always look forward to your videos, Jinne! Canned fruit is kind of ridiculous if you can preserve it yourself. I bought a 3# bag of clementines a few weeks ago, and canned them. I got 4 pints out of the bag, which came out to 89c or so for a pint, which is more than you get in a can! I did it again last week, since the price was so good. Now we have yet another fruit to eat that I am not able to grow.

Thank you for your video. What a variety. I'm doing great pantry wise so I'm focusing on the Grain Elevator and bulk grains. I managed the half ton of Wheat and half ton of Corn so far and I'm going back for Oats (500lb) and enough Wheat (200lb) and Corn (500lb) to top up the bins I have. I have a five gallon bucket of Beets to get canned up and I could get some more garden carrots too. I'm finding great items in the new International Section of a local grocery. I found a two pound Mylar bag of bulk Black Tea, Product of India, and I'm kicking myself for only getting the one. Only $14 for the 2 lb. I'll get more for sure. There's been no bulk Black Tea around here for awhile. And India has been growing great Tea forever. I'm also buying "Savorey Granules", for Meat, Stir Fry and Rice, product of the Philippines and I really like the stuff. A bundle of 12 packs, each one good for four cups of cooked Rice, or one lb of Stir Fry, or one lb of Meat for $2.50 a dozen. I try to get four every trip now. Then there was the coarse grind Black Pepper, a 400 gram (almost a lb) for $12.99. Back when I started buying this pepper it was only $7.99 a bag. My how times change. I bought one and it was wonderfully fresh so I bought another my next visit to the store. That bag will last us 4 to 6 months and that's only used for cooking too. It's too coarse for the finer palettes in this house and I just laugh. I vacuum this Pepper with oxy absorbers for the long term thing. For a long time I was buying little 200 gram bags of whole peppercorn that were wonderful and fresh for $2 and I'd pick up at least five at a time. Man they add up fast. I really don't want to barter, but if I must, I'm betting on those Peppercorns. Keep up the great work and good luck.

You had me at Beets. Love beets. Not the pink pee afterward, but beets make my heart sing. Great haul. Love seeing what you come up with for the store you decided on. I haven't been to Walmart in a few months. I think I am due to see what they have that I may be getting low on, or just want to add to my supplies. I am keen now on getting some Jiffy mixes. I love and prefer plain water. But I do drink lemonade once in awhile. I actually keep a wide assortment as part of my supplies because I figure they make a good masking agent if the water supply takes on a weird taste, even after filtering and such.
