Today we go look at the Acehawk AG Venom BFS fishing rod that is available on Aliexpress so that you can target Bass, Trout, Perch, Bream and all the other predatory ultralight species on some great value for money gear. If you are new to BFS fishing (bait finesse system) and you don't know what the best reel and rod is for you then this channel is a great starting point. We will look at some favourites such as the Seasir Cast X, Soloking Acura, Kingdom Micro Monster, Tsurinoya Dark Wolf Ultra, Purelure Silver Feather and the Cormorant.

My first bfs rod was the dobyns Sierra ultra finesse 700c. It’s amazing from the boat for bass here in American

This 6ft version was my first BFS rod with Kastking Valiant Eagle 2 baitcaster. Start of year bought 7ft version and Soloking Acura HICC50 (older version) baitcaster using it. I have modify my Kastking to break less and i think im liking it more than 7ft rod + Soloking. But i might need to adjust Soloking better.

I'm actually keen to try the 7ft version. It's a pretty unique rod. I actually sold this one to a local new to BFA so good excuse to get the 7ft!

Good one Jacob! My first BFS rod was an Abu Garcia Troutin Marquis 6 sections telescopic 4-8lb 5’1”. Still one of my favourite UL short rods for super skinny water bass. Paired with the 16’ Alde BFS XG, again still one of my favourite reels

Not bad at all, how much did that combo set you back? Did you get the tele rod because you really wanted the portability?

@@yep.fishing from memory ~$300Aud for the rod and ~500Aud for the reel. So still a sub $1000 combo. Yes, back then I used to ride my push bike to the office and I had a nice urban stream on my way where I could catch bass, the advantage of the telescopic over a 4-5 piece rod is that you can chuck it in a backpack all rigged up (reel on, line through guides and clip at the end of your leader) then you get to the spot, extend the rod, clip a lure on and you’re fishing in 30s, a 4-5piece rod takes much longer to setup.

My AG Venom 562 literally come Thursday and is sitting in front of my keyboard as I type. When this weather clears up (Lake Macquarie, NSW), I can't wait to throw cranks in creeks for bream while bass are off season. My initial thoughts are that it's a great looking rod, the guides look to be good quality (Fuji k knock offs), and casts really well if you're casting it as intended (finesse style, not traditional light bass fishing). It would be a better trout/whiting rod then bream (especially bream from cover), but given the low price I'm going to put it through it's paces to really test it. Come winter, I'll probably try it against big salmon and possibly weed flies for luderick. I also have a Mavllos Ultima on the way.

Nice, you'll find the ultima better for bass and fishing around structure. Got a lot more grunt but it will cast just as light as the Venom.

I wonder if the 7ft version has effectively a faster action. If it was the same action I wouldnt want a rod thst long and soft

You're not really missing out, I mean yeah it's a great rod but it's not like it's something special. I think if it was cheaper a lot more people would have them. Still probably top 5 most common Ali rods I see people posting.

@yep.fishing would you recommend this rod, the Handing Magic L, or the Delicacy you mentioned at the end in comparison? Pairing with an Aurora Air. Cheers!

I think the delicacy is more versatile with the twin tips. I'm pretty sure it's quite cheap now too. Another rod which is worth a look os the Cemreo Zacco. I did an unboxing video on it recently. Link is in the description of that video because it's hard to find. I'm testing that rod at the moment and it's very similar to Ag venom in terms of action.

@@yep.fishingFor the delicacy, I just wish it came in a shorter option. I have a lot of overhanging trees where I fish and the 5’10 length is just a bit too long for my liking. I will check out your review on the other you recommended. Thanks!
