I needed to adjust the timing on the engine. I was timing the cams to rotate in a clockwise direction. But realized when I was hitting the starter and looking through the timing window and seeing that I was incorrect the whole time. And since you can only see the motor spinning through the timing window, that is considered the correct side. So, the right side of the bike (if you're sitting on the bike) is the correct side, and thus, the engine spins counter clock wise for correct operation. So, long story short. Engine spins counter clockwise. You also can just remove the main engine bolt in the frame near the steering head. And the tilt the motor slightly enough to remove the top end.
