You’re supposed to start as soon as you get it. It’s “hard” because we serve them as soon as they come out of the fryer, so it’s not the heat from the sauce fucking you up, it’s the literal hot heat from the fryer lol.

Hi, chicken wing designer here, Pop the knuckle on the flats by a slight twist and pull out smaller bone. Pull meat off with teeth not touching lips. The lips always start the downfall. Pop all knuckles before you start eating so that you can eat the flats quickly without involving the lips. It will by you time on the heat

I did this when I was 12. 15 years ago it was 12 wings in 10 minutes. They gave me the sweetband and brought it out with a siren and a fog machine. If you were able to finish it you got a picture with the waitstaff posted on the front lobby wall, a plaque, and a tummy ache. The blazin sauce they used isn’t as spicy as today. It wild take at least 7-8 wins to the face to make me see stars but now I cat barely finish 3 without convulsing

Well I would assume whenever you went there, they probably didn’t have this “challenge” going on. When restaurants do stuff like this, it’s usually for publicity/ advertisement. They will generally have a set timeframe of how long they have this challenge running for (i.e. number of days or weeks). Even if they did have the challenge going on when you went there, it’s not as if every single person who orders wings will have to sign papers or do the challenge. Depending on which employee is assisting you (and what type of mood they’re in/how much they like or dislike their job lol) they might not even mention it. They likely would have some sort of little signage posted, but we don’t necessarily look at all that when eating out.

For context, I've done a few wing challenges before. Picking the meat off the bone makes it easier to ingest it. The bone acts as a stored heat radiator and the heat is trapped within the meat. Take away the heater core, you take away the physical temperature heat. All that's left is spice. The heat makes it painful to ingest excess spice. So they established a rule to make it as difficult as possible. The no gloves rule is also ridiculous cause the spice is literally acidic enough to cause burn deterioration of the skin.

I worked at BWW for 5yrs. I’ve seen plenty of people try the blazin challenge. 1 person had a seizure one time. At our store, you won a headband, bdubs shirt, and maybe free 6pc? Couldn’t use milk but we never told people they couldn’t use their hands. I’ve seen people rip the meat off the bones and eat it all. If you beat it you got some free ice cream or milk to help.
