Bufo valliceps (Gulf Coast Toad)

15 жыл бұрынBufo valliceps (the Gulf Coast Toad) calling for a mate. There are actually two toads calling, one is off camera. These toads are at an artificial pond in my backyard just below my bedroom window. Fortunately, they stop calling around 11 PM. Video taken with a Sony Cyber-shot using a headlamp as the light source.

i lived in Gulfport, MS for 5 years and one of these little guys lived outside my doorstep. every day i'd pick him up, tickle him on the tummy and put him back. he was a fren.

I love these guys so much. I live next to a creek, and every time it rains, I hear this for hours on end.

I loved catching these things any time I saw them. After a good rain, they would come out in droves, and proceed to get squished on the road. I've since moved to Iowa, and have yet to see a single toad.

Ty for the video, very helpful in identifying out new guests. Got a couple of these guys that moved into our small pond after a big rain storm.

My gulf coast toad decided to make a few short versions of those in the middle of the night (4 AM to be precise) and I'm so confused because it's October. Can anyone help? I'm worried something's wrong...
