What does it take to run a successful business? Well. In my humble opinion it's pretty simple but pretty rare. You need tenacity. That's the number 1 ingredient to running a successful business. You need to have the tenacity to knock down hurdle after hurdle. To keep going in the face of adversity.
You need to be a good hirer and a quick firer. So you need to be able to judge people and know the type of team you're looking to create.
You need money and you need to be good at managing money. If your personal money situation is not in order dont even think about starting a business. People claim it is the number 1 reason businesses fail. I disagree. It's the management of money that is the number 1 reason businesses fail. If you cant hack your way into getting good deals, working from coffee shops, setting up on the cheap, you will fail. It's a mindset. An efficient use of money mindset.
Solving problems is the main job of a startup. It'll be problem after problem. Are you a problem solver? If not,. forget running a business.
You should take a huge amount of pleasure at being good with money, solving problems and managing money and you have a slim chance of success.
The last thing is being organised. Getting things done. No distractions. It's really important. Most people I have come across have really poor judgement, they can't be helped. You need to be a logical, pragmatic thinker. An independent thinker.
