Build Garden Rows Fast & Easy! Grow Your Food.
This is how we prepared our garden rows with the Kubota LX2610 and the custom built row builder. Next we have to top dress them with compost and fertilizer, add some lime to adjust the PH and get some row covers on. This row is about ready to plant.
While we are here, let's talk about how we prune our tomatoes the first time.

Seems like yesterday that I was farming with my son. He has since moved to Japan and got married. Enjoy the time you 2 spend together doing things like this. I now grow hydroponically with my grandkids. My farm is one of the largest Hydroponic farms in West Tennessee, so I also have hired help, but I sure miss having my kids around the farm. love the content my friend. Chuck

I use the weed barrier fabric. Use a small butane torch to cut and to put holes in fabric. It'll keep it from unraveling. You'll be able to use it for 3 to 5 yrs. Garden looks good. May God bless it and it provide plenty. It's awesome to have your kid helping. Hats off to her..... Great job.

Hi Mike and Frankie. Frank and Jackie here at Burkeshire Farm. Just an FYI. When you cut that ground cover with a knife, it causes it to fray real bad. We use a small hand held torch and a straight edge to cut ours and burn holes in it. Works pretty good. We are in the process of building our Hiller for our tiller. Great video. Keep it going and God Bless.

Ph of 5.2 to 6.0 is great for potatoes most plants like 6.5 One thing you need to know about nitrogen when you're in a humid region is that once you apply it you either need to work it in or water it in. High humidity and above 80 to 85 temps the N begins to denitrophy, in the right conditions it will escape to the atmosphere in mere hours

I got 9 yds of mushroom compost for my garden this year. I just spread it with my front end loader and then disced it in. Sounds like your soil is acidic like ours. We normally apply 4 tons of lime per acre to decrease the acidity. I probably need to get a ton or two to put on my garden.

We planted our 30 x 50 foot raised row garden last month. Everything is coming up, but unfortunately so is wheat from the straw that we bought for building our rows. As I pull it out it is disturbing the soil around the plants and seedlings and there are quite a few clumps. Should I let it grow and hope the other plants like corn and beans choke it out or will the wheat choke out the vegetables?

How come when I put my fabric down the wind always shows up? 🤔 I cut my fabric with a torch to seal the ends so they don't unravel. I can eat tomatoes, but I can not touch the vines without having a skin reaction. That amazed several friends of mine. Years later, I found that the vines do have a toxic substance some individuals.
