Guys. He said THE ENGINE. Please open your eyes, he didn’t say vehicle build, he said L83 build. He knows what he’s talking about because I’m currently working on a very similar build. The engine has put up with the power. Obviously I had to replace the trans and the diff but that’s because everything else isn’t built for 1k hp. But like I said, this is about an L83, not about the rest of the specs.

🧢 youre full of shit too fuel system wont come close to 1k on an l83 even if its upgraded to the lt4 stuff. Have to use port injection to get anything close to 1k. My l83 is tapped at 760 on the direct injection fuel system and ive done a lot more to my engine than he suggested. sounds good though

You must’ve never seen 8’s for 8 or the thousands 1k horsepower SBE turbo clones on youtube. Stock bottom end gen 4. L83 is gen 5, which is a stronger bottom end.

Lm7 truck motor big bang Theory. Cast iron block low compression can be found in truck from 99 to 2007. Great motor for power adders like superchargers prochargers nitrous turbos. Works great in my mud truck with a procharger. 🤣🤣🤣 not bad for a engine i paid 600 for out of a wrecked Escalade at the junk yard.

If you’re gonna run any kind of forced induction, you need to MAKE SURE you have FORGED pistons. You also need to gap your rings wider to accommodate for extra heat

People always forget to talk about or are oblivious to the machine work that needs to be done. If A. Arp rod or main upgrade requires machine work. Arp main requires line honing. Arp rod bolts, if factory,, rods need to be honed back to spec Arp head studs and if upgrade to forged piston, it's important to torque plate honed of the cylinders.

I have a cheap $160 gt45 turbo, junkyard transmission, truck intake and $380 100lb injectors on a silverado and I'd say it's pretty reliable, ive taken it on 90 mile road trips with a/c and comes back fine 👍🏻

Lol you should start with 20-25 grand of budget, a team of professionals. And right when you hit 1000 horse tuning it, the trans will blow up on the Dyno. So another 10,000 on a built transmission.

Big facts. We have a guy up here where I live with a 2017 Chevy Silverado ltz z71 that comes to our local car meet every weekend where he rebuilt the engine with pretty much everything in this video but add a better crank and he's running dual turbos with 20 psi plus 70lb spray with an HD tune and he's making 1017hp to the wheel it's absolutely insane. Dudes doing rolling burnouts at 30mph.

@snizzard9730 Rolling burnouts at 30 doesn't require all that. My '54 Ford 100 has a naturally aspirated 438 Stroker making about 650hp and will blot out the sun in 3rd gear at 45mph. Edit: I forgot to mention that my '54 weighs in at 5k lbs.

Yeah you don't need to do all that. Cam, L86 intake and TB. take it apart and add ring gap, since you have to fly cut the domes in the pistons for PTV clearance for the cam. Add ARP Studs when you reassemble then add turbo.

@@TheTmshuman it's not that anything takes a dump it's just horrible extremely rough machine work, like its seriously lacking especially for how important good machine work is for optimal airflow and thermal efficiency. If you take Texas speed stuff and send it to a better machine shop just to smooth it out you'll make a noticeable difference in power and fuel economy

@@yamomsballs I’ve side by side compared my factory CNC LS7 heads to their PRC 285’s and the machine work and flatness with a machinists sliding square where comparable. Used their PRC 227’s back in the day without issue as well. Plenty of great companies to choose from thankfully. My biggest issue with them is their use of Chinese parts up to and including blocks.

These engines are awesome , one of these in a 3rd gen camaro with mild cam intake manifold and long tubes is super fun . They make great power stock . They’re like 11:1 compression from the factory only shitty part is you’re Limited in cam size unless you fly cut the pistons or install aftermarket pistons with valve reliefs . Stout engines tho . The heads flow insane stock .

Talks about a direct injected engine but shows an intake and injectors set up for port injection. The only way I’d pay the premium for the L83 is because it’s aluminum and directed injected. If you’re getting rid of the direct injected I’m not sure why people would pay the high dollar amount over an older vortec.

$2200 my ass! Ain’t no way. That Holley high ram intake and big turbo is a$1k rite there , rods pistons rings bearings will be at least $15-1800! Then the head work is probably a grand at least, the ARP bolt kits for my engine 5.4GT500 was over $600 in bolts alone mains, side bolts, headbolts, cam bolts and washers , tensioner bolts, Kenetic crank bolt is $100 for one bolt!

I have some of this in my 2jz build. Arp main and head studs, king thrust washer the other bearings are ACL king was the only thrust washer available rn. Big single turbo lmao. Of course built bottom end built head stock crank but I swear I paid ALOT more minus buying the car with partial built bottom.

L83 is direct port injection, the LT4 injectors are the biggest ones you can use and they don't support 1k hp so you'll need methanol injection or add port injection

You can do that reliably for far less work. Go follow Richard Holdner for real engine advice. If you're going to build an engine, make it bigger, get a bigger crank. The thing is though, if you're going to turbo it in the end, all you need is ring gap, good heads and a nice cam. Then it's all down to the tune.

Everything was good except the heads. Unless you have money to burn, all a ported head will do is create more power for the same amount of boost. You can accomplish the same thing by increasing the boost a few pounds. Then you can use that $2200 for a good stage 4 turbo cam and a Holley terminator. Boost on a stock computer can be a nightmare to tune. The Holley makes it so much easier. But you do lose all of your creature comforts so not ideal for a daily. But then again who in their right mind would daily a 1000 hp car 😂
