2 ай бұрынE496 - Building a brand new Amiga 4000. The Black beast gets a new board after a year of me trying to fix a no damage board. will this new creation work? come along for the ride.
Special thanks to Kavanoz and Paul Rezendez for creating this masterpiece. please note this was revision 1 of the re pop boards. the newer boards do not have silkscreen on every solder point. and have improved it even more. interested in one of these? That board is a thing of beauty. Right now the shipping and customs would probably double the price if I were to get a remake A2000. We will see what the future brings. Take care, and keep up the good work.

Well done! Wish my ATX 4000 would have worked on the first try. Tens of hours of soldering is rewarded with tens of hours of diagnostics. Hopefully I will get my board working properly.

they can be rather enjoyable to do, I've done a red 2000 and a black 500+ i have a board here to do another 2000 but black this time, its an awesome feeling when they fire up the 1st time

Interesting Dr Chris. Have 2 x ACILL boards running at the moment 👍🏻 Would be nice though to have the Silkscreen with the pointers for pin 1 etc.. Maybe a newer revision is needed? But hey, it works 👍🏻 Cheers 🍻

I actually smiled when she booted up for the first time. Yes, it is a great feeling! I no longer have any Amiga hardware - how difficult is it to obtain the custom chips for the 4000? Would another model be easier to do a re-Amiga on?

Contact cleaner eh.. ah just goto the auto parts store get some brake cleaner, that should do the trick. XD I'll presume he plans to retro-brite that A4K faceplate.

"Why not jumper to PAL", because the PALjumper expects a PAL crystal, making all the chipset timings (including the clock) slightly off. If you change the jumper you need to change the crystal too.

my other 4000's are pal Crystals, however you can boot it on PAL jumper with a ntsc crystal. it will work but for stability yes change the crystal also

haha no The Black beast was a Video toaster rack mount unit, that was cut, black poweder coated and customized to have fans and drives and keep everything cool. it ran non stop for years which is what i think burned it out.
