Vasily, you continue to both impress and inspire me with your can do attitude and willingness to tackle any job. Also your being willing to humbly acknowledge your mistakes and correct them in a matter of fact manner that shows maturity well beyond your natural years. I want to encourage you once again to continue to Give Glory To God in your videos. Others may disagree, but at 62 years old I have lived the life of both a person who didn't acknowledge God and for the past 20 years one who does with conviction and it has made ALL the difference in my life! As Always, May God Bless you and yours!

Vasily, you are spot on about the contamination issue for any aluminum welding; most welding is best done clean, but aluminum requires clean to the bone. More good welds and less frustration for the welder! You do seem to learn faster than most so ever onward! FR

I've been watching back when you started upgrading the Chinese go cart and it's never gotten boring or dull. I'm like you if it's not right i have to fix it even if it works. If it doesn't look right it usually doesn't perform right either. The rally cart cart you built is my favorite.

Probably telling you something you know but use acetone or lacquer thinner to clean the surface then use a dedicated stainless steel wire brush to further clean the surface. There are chemical cleaners for aluminum welding that will help with contamination issues also.

Ive welded a couple of Aluminum parts so far with pulse MIG and my tricks to get the TIG finish are: Using AlSi5 type welding wire, rather than AlMg5 type wire (4Roller wire feed recommendet) it flows much smoother than wire with magnesium. Degrease and pre heat the surface with a quick blast of the blow torch, the start of the bead should be a little hotter than the rest and the bead will have an even cross section. Use a cylindrical gas nozzle for your MIG gun, this will help to cool the bead and create less soot on the edges, of course the gas should at least be 99% Argon.

A tip for weld prep on aluminum….if it’s not a cosmetic piece, cross cut the metal to clean it…basically just running a burr/rotary file lightly across the alum. Aluminum is so soft, even the grinding wheels specifically for aluminum will impregnate the metal with impurities

Great video 👌 Tig welding downhill is a surprisingly easy and efficient way to fill a gap. Just remember, tig welding is like 70% prep, 20% experience and 10% technique. That and you can "flash" the area of the work piece your welding on (heat it up with the arc, no rod. Not sure proper nomenclature) to remove impurities that seep into pores, it also works good with tig welding cast metals due to impurities in the casting process like with heads, blocks and cases 👍

As I was watching this video, you held up a can of some sort of cleaner and I remembered something from my days as safety coordinator for a company I worked for. Be extremely careful on what cleaners you use when MIG/TIG welding. Some of these cleaners react with the welding process and off gas very harmful fumes that can cause permanent lung damage. Brake Kleen I think is one of the sprays you don't want to use when welding. Check your MSDS on all of your shop products for the warnings. Hope this helps. God bless and stay well.

Slow your blade speed down, go to as little a tooth count as you can get, and the key to cutting aluminum is slow down, and when you think you're slow enough, slow down until you don't have any aluminum build up on your cutting blades. Then you can eliminate any need for lubrication completely, and if you do start to get some build up on your blades. Same as with stainless steel, have dedicated brushes for each of these, and separate ones for carbon steel, and never cross contaminat one of your brushes on the other materials. Same thing for blades, as this too contaminates the others, and you'll find yourself struggling to make clean welds every time if you don't follow this simple discipline. Just get yourself some plastic containers large enough to hold whatever you need to maintain this, preferably that have decent seal on the lids foe each so that you don't get any shavings, or minute fragments from one to the other by grinding fragments being built up on top of your storage containers. Be sure to label them accordingly so as not to accidentally pick up the wrong container when you're in a hurry, are distracted by whatever it may be. This goes for your filler rods, your tungsten, and be sure to use air hose to blow amy particles from your gloves clothes, hoses, cups and other cross use equipment you have no choice in using as far as torch heads and the like. Best advice that I know to follow in keeping your cross contamination down to minimum, and make your welds they're best, and life somewhat drama free as far as your welding goes

I've watched boosted boiz, Cleetus and grind hard build Jet boats. Your build IS cool. You just need to focus on what sets your boat apart. Nobody on KZfaq has crossed the 400HP Mark in a mini jet boat build. Focus on the power plant. Also, building your own jet drive with superior performance? That sets your build apart. Unfortunately these boats take a ton of time. Viewers all are clamoring for the first ride video.

Your like me I rather be welding aluminum over steel and stainless steel so much easier to work with especially for me I use the primeweld tig 225x w\maxcool 3000 water chiller with a flexlock water-cooled torch. And far as you finding all that contamination you should be using Scotch-Brite with acetone and cleaning all your edges and everything with the Scotch-Brite with acetone in the Scotch Brite it gets the contamination out....

So far, your RD is my favorite, and your road legal cross kart, my second. I'd love to see more wicked bikes... It would be super rare to see somebody in the U.S. build one, but there are lots of road courses you could ride on, and could get it road legal: 50cc World Championship level Grand Prix race bike "homage". Picture this, as a great example of what I'm talking about: 1979 Kreidler Van Veen 50cc Championships bike. 50cc two-stroke (Kreidler Florett 50cc 5 speed, but highly tuned turning 17,000rpm's+ with rotary/case induction, and little high rev pea-shooter tuned pipe. They make just north of 20hp. Could also do one from a number of different makers, of that era. Derbi, Bultaco, Minarelli, Puch, etc. Treatland has all kinds of cylinders, carbs, pipes, everything... ) A Riga bike would be a pretty sweet bike to do, man. 👍 Yup! they come from Latvia. Check out the Riga 50cc GP race bikes.... Just ideas, because I know you love two-strokes, like me...

The street legal buggy was a "passion project" which mattered to you, just didn't get a lot of views. If you get something you can enjoy like that and the price was less views, then it could be worth it to you. Otherwise you know how YT works. We are content hungry, and always looking for the next coolest thing (in general). You do cool projects normally, so just back to the basics will bring in the views.
