A billet V12 hybrid block, with a custom billet crank, and custom fabbed intake manifold would be interesting. An 8 liter V12 Barra with a cross plane crank, that would be an interesting engine.

lol still have the metal tape version and you can still buy them as well from TDK, used to listen to tapped music from my CD player in the VK Calais driving to see all the brocky's sitting at the car dealerships in Campbellfield, lol :)

WFT lets use a allen key to do up or put in the studs, is this a mechanics workshop or a set, lol, where the T handles and the other good tools to be used when building a engine? Can wait to see just how much she makes at the hub dyno+ at the track as well, maybe low 9's is my guess after all its about putting the power down and gears to suit?

What machine work did you get done? I’m at the point of getting it machined but I’m unsure of what I need done.dandy engines are close by, so I know where I’ll be going to get the work done

Pretty sure you fitted the girdle upside down. There will be one teardrop shaped recess which will fit over the one cap that has that shape. The girdle will sit down on the caps not flat across the top how you have it

Still have not seen anything which is as good in engineering as the new LT6 corvette engine, with oil squitters, which is what the Barra needs to cool the engine plus get hi tempo ceramic coatings in all moving parts which has the most friction, that way the engine will last even longer, but still maintain the right oil temps with extra cooling of the oil, after all its going to be a drag engine, but still can dive it for the drag challenge when it comes around soon ?

Just thought I'd ask you guys if you've ever heard of anyone JUST running upgraded Intake Valve springs , as I'm just using the stock cams and Boost pressure is only on the Intake Valves , not on the exhaust valves . ??????

What sort of max power should you expect from this type of build up. Like you guys said entry level build but is that enough for 1000hp.

I'm guessing probably 6 to 7 thousandths per inch of bore, so like 22 to 25 thousandths (if stock bore)

Is it possible to covert a barra to run on diesel? Different cylinder head.. someone should do that..

Why would you run diesel ? E85 has great cooling properties that help protect the engine at high boost. A factory cast Barra block and head can make 2500hp on methanol.

The sump is part of the support with bolts not the block

Don't rely on big buildings mate. Ub, or I beam is just because of height. A us is what you'd call h beam is just because its cheaper and easy. So not a fair assessment.

Yeh, George carries on but was silent on specs, cuts rings but then keeps mouth shut on ring gaps. At least George showed a different way to put rings on and some head torque specs.
