Hey Howdy The Bearded Carpenter, You are a true Carpenter that does not use their knowledge and talent. Thanks for sharing the details. Some carpenters "just good enough". Not the Bearded Carpenter, if it's not 100%, The Bearded Carpenter has an answer to each phase of whatever he is building and he is awesome!! I've learned and was inspiration by all sorts of way to correct cut and come out with as great (maybe better than Paradise Point, sorry Wayne) it is awesome. So paul you multitude what looks like a a short 1 hand saw for finishing detains to making the cuts on the rafters on Pt 4 also. Collecting parts for the lower hoist. God Bless You folk.

I love your running instructional narration. God bless.

Howdy Curtis/ I sure appreciate you subscribing to our channel. When I’m building a log cabin I like to use green logs and allow for the settling that will take place. On the sawmill shed I had cut some of the timbers a good while ago and some were cut while I was putting the frame up. The 1x12’s were put up about a month after I cut them but they have completely dried out this summer. I don’t think you would have any problem cutting the timbers and using the right away. I hope this helps. God’s blessings to you

Howdy y’all- I did the Shou Sugi Ban on the bottom of the posts up about four feet. It’s charring the wood with a torch and helps prolong the wood in the ground. I used red cedar which is rot resistant and packed gravel around the posts so water wouldn’t be trapped against the posts. Take care and God’s blessings to you

The black color is charred wood to help preserve the base of the posts set in the ground.

Howdy Rudy- it would definitely smooth the corners of the beams. I was working against time to get the shed built. Thank you for watching the video. God bless

Howdy- no, it’s not my home, but not very far away from it. If I get in the doghouse with my wife it might be 😂 God bless

DON'T THINK IT WILL GO ANYWHERE! I would call this a modern day timber frame. Had the past craftsman hade lag bolts etc., I expect you would have seen less "letting" than we see in there work.

Howdy Robert- if those old timers had what we have today to work with there’s no telling what they could have done. It’s enjoyable to work with big timbers. Thank you so much for watching the video. God bless

I have to say you don't do anything half way. Just a hunch but i'll bet you do the same caliber of work with or without the camera being on. That is what is called integrity. Not a lot of that around much anymore . All kidding aside that is fine work...

Howdy Johnny- thank you so much for the kind words. I try to do the best I can with whatever I’m doing cause my Daddy might be watching. He taught me to do it right the first time cause it was easier. Take care and God’s blessings to you

Why did you spend all the time on your gunstock pieces when you could have done better and a much quicker job with a bandsaw ?
