Considering how many hours I've sunk into Dorfromantik, I will be looking into this game! Shout out to Tom for finding so many good games I'd never have heard of otherwise!

@@fvoarin1307 this isn’t plagiarism, they took the concept and changed it up to make it unique. Otherwise all your new games are plagiarising some concept or mechanic, even narrative tropes. I’d be glad to have games inspired by mechanics or concepts I create Sincerely a game designer.

a while back i mailed te dorfromantik devs for feedback input, asking for camera tilt and maket effect (blurry on top and bottom of the screen) and adding mountain tiles with a growing mechanic (the more mountain tile you place the bigger the mountain range become with a merging effect), and i never seen it impletmented (i mostly wanted the camera tilt). but this is basically what i was thinking, i'll be checking it out.

I must've played a hundred hours in Dorfromantik. I really like how the tiles in this game don't care about orientation, and the megamulti-tile things seem fun too!

Anyone else felt everything click when they found out Tom was *the* Tom Clark from the _Tom Clark Memorial Megatower_ ? I was stunned when I first came across this channel but everything made sense then. He _is_ the chosen one. Daily reminder that Tom is an amazing person and to thank him for all he has done/will do - Day 1174 Hell Ye Baby, a tile building game with a cute, satisfying and relaxing style enjoyed via Tom, now this is my evening right here :D what a fantastic time Reminded me alot of Dorf this game, but as Tom said, it did add a nice bit of variation to make it it's own Well since this is the demo, defiantly going to try it out myself, but also I would adore to see more as I love these games and this one is just so nice

I wish you had heros you had to occupy as you play. Along with factions you have to balance. Send characters across the map if they get to strong they get board if its too difficult they get frustrated. A faction will go to war with other factions if they are in range. Range is how many homes along with not shared resources.

not really. if you've played them, Dorfromantik is very stressful puzzling while this is quite chill building. the only common things is tiles and points.

@@deltaangelfire Dorf isn't stressful in the least....It's and extremely chill and easy game. I've seen this said in a few comments, and I really don't get it Go actually have a look at the layout of Dorf, and you'll see that it's way more similar than just "tiles and points". But you are right in a sense, they have added a few things to it. But even those areas show heavy influence from other games, like Islanders

@@fvoarin1307 Dorfromantik is an edge matching game which gets exponentially more complex as your perimeter increases and requires alot of planning to get sufficient points to keep playing. Edge matching is 6 things your need to remember on every tile that can be upto 6 different terrains and still need to be remembered as you leave open ends. This game has 1 -2 per tile. And just by admitting this utilizes influence from islanders by definition makes it not plagarism. That's like saying every 2d game with one player character jumping over obstacles and collecting coins to get to the end of a level, and also having a "lives" and "coins" and "points" counters located at the top of the screen is plagarism.

Only in the sense that every 1st person shooter is "pure plagiarism" of Wolfenstein 3D
