Wow, wooden handles, why has no one else ever thought of that? If you run out of wood, you can throw in the handles , and your good for another 5 mins. LOL.

Made one many moons ago, still use it to heat my workshop, originally I used a 3” pipe as it was all I had, but I burn a lot of pallets And the stack furred up like a burger kings artery. Minimum 4” stack to draw correctly my chimney sweep said.he was right.

I had a similar issue, I originally had one stack (made from a piece of scaffolding pole) the hole was too small and the smoke couldn't escape quick enough and would choke the fire. I added a second pipe which made it work much better but it could probably do with another pipe or swap the two small pipes for one large stack as you suggested.

hi, awesome job. What mig welder and spec did you use, because the metal looks quite thick?. thanks.

Hi, thanks! I'm just using a cheap welder that I bought for practicing with, I'm not a welder and this was my first time making one of these. I just adjusted the amps as I worked to find out what worked best

Is a double glass door from a propane stove/oven from a camper suitabke for making a woodstove door? Also if it is i will be doing a woodstove out of the oven part . Any ideas?
@MrBrnrdy2 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure if a stove door would work, but I have seen videos of people using pyrex dishes in their doors to make a viewing window, I would assume a pyrex dish and the glass from a stove door would have a similar temperature rating but I dont know

It's from a propane stove for a camper, .

My guess would be that it would work perfectly, sounds like a good idea

im going with the 3 inch pipe because thats what i have and i think the trick will be in the vent which will also be 3 inch but super ventilated, no smoke trying to escape and burn longer than the almost open fire examples i have seen
@MrBrnrdy Жыл бұрын
Sounds good, I think 3 to 4 inches is about right to get it burning nicely. I originally done this with only one exhaust and it was choking up with smoke so I added a second and it worked much better.

Nope, too much KZfaq fluff! Don’t like music with DIY videos, also.

Thanks for the feedback. When I get better at building them maybe I can talk through what worked well or not for me.

What did you show? How leazy, jobs. No ash collection place. Wood handle on stowe. No idea for doing. Doing something !

Hi, I just showed a video of me building a stove out of some scrap I had lying around and a rough idea in my head, never intended to show much more than that as I have never built one of these before and had no idea what I was doing or how it would turn out. A tray that works like a drawer could be good for ash collection, what do you think? I used a wood handle to protect from burning my hands as wood is an insulator and I liked the look of the natural branch as a handle, it is attached to metal which extends away from the main body so never gets hot enough to burn the wood. Thanks for the helpful feedback 👍

@@MrBrnrdy how did you remove the paint of the cylinder, did the heat from first burn do it. Cheers
@MrBrnrdy2 жыл бұрын
@@metal420. the heat helped most of it to burn off then I used a sanding disc on the grinder to finish it off
@metal420.2 жыл бұрын
@@MrBrnrdy perfect, that's my job for the day although I couldn't wait and got the fire going yesterday and yes just like you said a quick sanding and job done. Thanks

You zipped through the door video, the most important part, couldn't learn anything from this video, what was the point of making this video, sorry, but very disappointed in the video, really wanted to see the whole video, but not like this, thumbs down from me, sorry
@MrBrnrdy2 жыл бұрын
Hi sorry to disappoint you, the video was never intended to be a "how to" video as I've never done this before and was just figuring it out as I went along with a rough idea in my head of what I wanted to do.
