Wood framing the apartment side of the quonset hut. Our little barndominium shop is coming together fast. A lot of work but lumber prices are coming down.

A word of advice from a 35 year framer. When nailing studs to a plate, nail the bottom nail first, then move your hand, and shoot the top nail. Very easy for the gun to double tap and shoot you in the hand. I have seen it happen too many times. Keep up the great work on the property. Love your channel. Cheers from Canada.

yes have had my nail gun do that and it just missed my boot, wondered what the heck it was, so wary of these things scares me when I use my big framing gun

I know a guy who got nailed in the jaw from a 16p framing nail from a nail gun that ricocheted off concrete ~12 ft away from him. It went through his cheek completely shattering a molar and stuck in his jaw. It knocked him out for ~15 seconds. Total hard reset.

I agree, a cement covered patio on the ground floor with a deck on the second floor and some simple stainless wire and post railings........perfect for nighttime star gazing!

yeah, a deck for the bedroom that can also be a cover for a patio below.

Really nice architectural treats in your plan.. ? maybe extend a few of those 2nd floor joists & make a small deck off your bedroom for morning coffee.? My wife & I are in our 60's & 70's and still get our kicks from building & restoring houses.. we/re on our 6th or maybe 7th.. It's so gratifying to see your ideas work. Great work, all of you!.. It's good to know that there are no bounds to what you can accomplish.. just maybe our heads...

In some places could insurance costs be a reason not to put one in ? Just speculating and want to know as its something I d want in a commerical garage , but rarely see anymore as many have those double post lift units it seems instead.
@phantom6292 жыл бұрын
Next time throw that 4' ladder up on top of that baker scaffold to get to the top its more stable than you think. Get you some 5" thick styrofoam to put in the wall between the apt and shop, we used to build freezers like that they have excellent sound deadening quality. Looks like its going to be a nice sized place
