Okay, I'm definitely making a Laundromat with some run-down apartments on a second and third floor, with vending machines and an arcade machine in the laundry and a tagged up dumpster out back in the alley. I'm also adding some run-down trailer parks. Whatever the opposite of gentrification is, I'm using this pack to do that to the Sims neighborhoods.

Imagine a craftsman style home with the upstairs converted into an apartment and a small “shed” converted into an apartment as well. You could get three families on one lot but it would still look like a single family dwelling.

I'd really love to see apartment buildings in every world, especially Windenburg and a pet friendly complex in Brindelton Bay 😍

14:00 in my sims' house they have a telescope, I threw a family gathering. All went extremely well. Suddenly the camera shifts to my sim's sister getting strucked by a meteor on the balcony. What a memorable party overall!

I wonder when Kayla will realize that she can hide apartments in build mode so the lag goes away when she isn't furnishing or showing them.

When I was younger and really into sims I built a 26 unit apartment complex and decorated every apartment differently and watching this now I have no clue how I managed that. This is so well done! I’m so excited to get For Rent

I still haven’t bought the pack but from what I’ve seen on Twitter the lag is getting intense especially in the build mode of rental lots as you showed and not to mention the ongoing bug of rent turning into millions of simoleons and being unable to stay for that reason. In my opinion I can’t understand how they couldn’t find out about these issues prior the release but had to wait for users to purchase it to have a feedback, it’s the main focus of the pack so it’s unbearable that they did not play test it properly.

I am amused by how hard you work to make all the apartments different. My experience with apartments is that they try to make them as bland as possible (with white walls, oatmeal-colored carpet, amenities in "basic brown" or "white", and no decorations.) The apartment dweller is expected to "brighten up" their apartments with pillows, throws, and carefully hung wall decorations (using something that makes no marks on the walls.) And if the apartment is furnished, the furniture is also as bland as possible. Of course, in TS4, we want to see a variety in our builds, and from what I've seen of For Rent, you can ask for a higher amount of rent if it is well-decorated. But that is so different from real life!

I recently built some apartments out of "shipping crates" from Eco Lifestyle, using the debug item as a template for size and shape. It was a challenge, to be sure, but I was so happy when I finished and I'm currently making sims for the rentals!

Definitely would love to see more, if you kept them pack specific. I.e Cats and Dogs plus base game - plus 4Rent. But you do what feels right. Love watching, and downloading your builds.

An issue I have had involving downloading residential rental lots from the gallery. The lot you want to place it on has to already be designated as a residential rental lot, or the game won’t let you place it. There is no option to change lot type when you place it, as you can for other lot types. Placing the lot itself is REALLY laggy. It is less laggy from the the manage world screen than in build mode. So I have to: 1. Select the lot and enter build mode 2. Change lot type to residential rental 3. Go back to manage worlds, open gallery and place lot (and edit if desired) Not great for trying to play in these beautiful rental lots everyone is making. My game froze multiple times trying to place one lot.

Builds like these make me want to draw up a quick floorplan for my apartment building, and see what you can make with it. Aside from that: something to think about in future builds is the clubhouse. Mine is two story, has a kitchen, a sitting area, a gym attached, and a pool. I don't know how large a lot you'd need, but you could build a six(+) unit complex, and then a shared space club house for maximum skill building opportunity.

I say this because I know that in every video where you furnish apartments you said you want to adjust the windows so badly and now it just works!!! I am also so addicted to this pack! I've been watching all the for rent content I can find and I'm playing two different landlords. One is a tiny home community and since the story mode gave her the club leader aspiration I made a club with all her tenants and they all hang out at one house plus the common area and do their club things together, it's so cute! The second is a rags to riches where I spent all the starting funds on the tenants home and made her unit an empty box 😂

It would have been really cool if you could set the apartments or houses as furnished and unfurnished. For the furnished the landlord has to provide basic furniture and for unfurnished, the Sims can bring their stuff. And both options will be really awesome if every tenant adds their personal touch in decor or colour options, etc.

i love these apartments!! and I LOVE THE VAN GOGH BED!! All three are based on some of his paintings! The default swatch is actually from a painting he did of his own room. I’m so grateful for the devs that made that bed!!

Talking about laundry in the current build: some older (expensive) homes have dumbwaiters in the bedrooms to link the upper and lower levels for things that would be difficult to carry up many stairs. That could also be the reasoning behind your laundry unit in this build.

I'm imagining a penthouse kind of situation for this pack. Your sim lives in the nice penthouse on the top floor but your neighbors have small less fancy apartments, and the bottom floor is a lobby with fancy decor.

lilsimsie has been the GOAT when it comes to apartment buildings for this expansion pack, I'm super duper looking forward to more apartment buildings in each world! def doesnt have to be 12 each time tho lol 😅

the layout and shape is literally my apartment- down to the 2 identical buildings next to each other (minus the balconies and courtyard, plus mine doesnt look fancy, its cheap and has a small alley in between)
