When the pack releases, you should make opposite apartments/townhouses! For example, one apartment is very maximalist and cluttered with plants and such while another is minimal and modern, etc!

The Sims team making lots that have up to six units of apartments REALLY opens up the possibility for hotels in a future expansion. You could easily make a hotel room with that same tool.

I have to say, I appreciate Simsie admitting that it IS a “waste of time” because I was personally wondering if she’d go back and make these playable or just move on and make new ones. I think Simsie, that you could potentially use these premade apartments to make a tutorial for people though! If it is a bit complicated when the pack comes out then it could be useful to produce a tutorial to help others understand how to section off separate living areas!

I can't believe you didn't mention that each unit can hold 8 sims, which means you can have a lot that houses 48 sims!

my theory for the apartment-marker-tool (name is a work in progess) is the it'll be like the wall tool and you draw the outline of the apartment, there could also be a mini menu with it to count the number of appartments. The sim gurus also said about updating previous builds which makes more sense if the apartment-maker-tool is similar to drawing a wall/room

I dare you to build a base game build that almost *exclusively* uses that horrible magenta swatch on everything lol

Love this mini series, these apartments are gonna be so fun to play with! Also I do prefer the builds with loads of packs, I might be a minority but I just love the variety 😍

A retirement community apartment thing would be cute! Just apartments for all the elderly, and nice community space for them to mingle, with rocking chairs, knitting, crafts, painting, chess, a community garden… I think I’m going to do this! So many possibilities! I’ve been waiting on building my own apartments for so long!

I personally love that you don't use custom content and just sims items! One of the reasons I like downloading your builds in the sims 4 is that I feel like you always keep in mind the playing aspect of your builds. Some builders make beautiful lots but they are not always as functional to play with.

14:03 Girl cats' love language can be so sweet - they're often much more reserved, less cuddly than males, but they're so discreetly cllingy it's adorable. Like, they twist their little bodies into all kinds of odd concave shapes to avoid being pet, but then sit with you for hours (in a safe distance, back turned, God forbid anybody sees them ahowing affection :D :D)

I'd almost guess that they'll be something that functions like the flooring tool that you use to draw out the apartments (without it actually affecting the flooring of the build).

What I NEED in CAS: not just filter hair by length or texture, but by if the hair has fringe/ bangs or not. If my Sim has bangs I don't want her to suddenly not have them in a updo. 😅

you can convert all of your previous 'fake' builds to real ones really easy too! (or so ive hered) honestly, this is the first pack since i joined in 2021 I am really really REALLY! exited about!!!!!!

I find it amusing that I've already included 4- and 6-unit apartments/condos in my world, yet somehow never considered adding duplexes or townhomes. It's like they slipped my mind, but now I realize they could be a great addition! Now if they could only do this with restaurants.

They should keep it pretty close to something they already created for the multi front doors thingy. Since sims is so old now it's probably easiest to keep that kind of organization under the "set front door/ set unlocked to/ set locked for" action. Or a placard like the no shoes indoors sign in snowy escapes. They most likely will make it like the townhouses in America where the landlords is at the start of the street and gets all the mail to their house where you gotta retrieve it.

I wish the sims would do like a huge base game update where they completely go over all thr CAS and the Build & Buy stuff to have some more natural swatches and more items, also i love your videos kayla, im currently watching the nightmare legacy from the begin again and it so good

I'm so curious to see if this new pack will blend well with tiny living. I'd love to have multiple units that can qualify as any of the small house sizes individually, even if everything on the lot combined would exceed those limits. Like a duplex where each unit is 100 tiles kind of stuff.

I literally cannot wait to finally make apartments! This was one of my favorite things to do in the Sims 3.

I know simsie talks about not wanting to have CC to make her builds accessible but I wonder if she would enjoy doing like a CC sunday, or something where she can go all out with whatever CC she wants with out having to worry about it. almost like a creative outlet. it's probably not worth it for the amount of work she would probably have to do on the backend (linking, downloading, undownloading) but I thought I would mention it because I think it would be cool to see (and if she ever feels the urge to do so then she knows that it's something at least one person would love to see)

I love listening to you talk about Snap and Shrimp cause it reminds me of exactly how my cats act, Hunter (9 years old female) is super chill but does the exact same as Snap and Otto (almost 2 years male) is super clingy and will be practically on top of you all the time. It’s nice to know that the cats are so similar lol

if i remember right, the sims team said the railing update was just the first fix of hopefully more as they figure out how to just have the railing one one side and not two when one side is against a wall! it's obviously glitching a lot, but they're still actively working on it!

My cat stays with me until I go to sleep. Then goes and does whatever she wants. And when it comes to me going to different rooms, she always keeps an eye on my movements. If I'm in the bathroom, she wants to be there too. So you are not alone in that scenario.

Snap does the same thing my Sonny boy does! He will try to get me to follow him to my bedroom just so he can sleep knowing I’m right there. And if I don’t go to bed, he’s on the couch or on the floor or my ladder step stool in the kitchen, wherever I am. I love hearing your kitty stories!! And this apartment is absolutely adorable!

This is basically the only TS4 pack I've ever been exited about. One thing I WISH will be a thing, but most likely not, is to be able to have apartments above funtioning shops, restaurants, clubs etc. So you can both be the annoyed upstairs neighbour or the owner living above.

Oh my, that makes so much more sense for that HUGE residential lot right in the middle of Del Sol Valley…this is gonna completely change how we use and build on lots!❤

you describing shrimp is very similar to my own male kitten who basically wants to crawl up into your arms 100% of the time. i guess the difference is that ollie is much more interested in getting up in your lap while your using the bathroom then playing in there but STILL. your kitties sound so sweet eeeee! im also just. really excited for this new apartment thing 👀i might actually have to buy this instead of wanting from afar

I was expecting 4 units or less, because it's very similar to how apartments worked in Sims 2, 4 often feels like 1.5 or a sidegrade from 2, and in TS2 apartments had no upper limit on units per building but did have a maximum of 4 playable households per apartment, so I'm pleasantly surprised that we got more than 4 units.

Honestly, I really appreciate you doing these builds right now, even though they aren't functional yet and you won't be going back to them. It gives me a chance to see how someone better at building than me does something like this, and gives me the chance to practice before the new pack comes out. Really appreciate you, Kayla

Hey Kayla, I just wanted to let you know that the railing glitch with the stairs is most likely being caused by the fence on the same side at the top or bottom of the stairs! Even when the fence is just touching the stairs it seems to cause an issue. It's super annoying but I've found that it usually fixes itself when I delete that fence and use a half wall instead.

Our cats put us to bed, too. One just hops up, asks for a treat, hangs out for a bit and then leaves, but the other (the kitten) insists on playing fetch for a while before we go to sleep lol

FWIW, Sim Guru Nova explicitly said to start pre-building (over on Twitter). Apparently it’s easy to convert existing lots into a Residential Rental lot!

Kayla is really just setting us up to change her old ones for us to use when the pack does come out if we don’t wanna build but wanna rent a lot

Love watching the speed builds, my plan is honestly big lot and like 6 small houses? Since we can have them separate it should be fun to see if you can "own the neighborhood" in a way.

my railings get almost exclusively messed up when there is a fence attached to the railing, if i dont have a fence connected the railing works fine for me

As far as the graves go, I honestly think at some point you should make a big, huge tomb. A big tomb that can hold all of these graves. Maybe they’re just urns inside of it? But like a big, huge family tomb to house, all of these graves/urns. Please make this please build this.

My cat Smokey, who was 15 and passed away this year, also put me to bed. She would sit and stare at me to get me to go to bed, if I ignored her she would paw at me, and if I kept ignoring her she would scream. Thanks for the cat updates Kayla

11:36 Aww, my mom's dog does that with her. He doesn't scream at her, he's a very soft silent boy but he will wait for her in bed and try to get her to come to bed when he gets tired. He's old now so it gets earlier and earlier. Sometimes she's away for several days and initially she asked me to sleep in her bed so that he isn't freaked out. I find it really uncomfortable sleeping in someone else's bed tho, so now I just make sure there's a soft light burning in her room, that the room is a comfortable temperature and his favourite pillow is there and all that and then I bring him inside there and leave the doors open so that he can come to me if he needs anything. Such a momma's boy hehe

Cats and hair ties….When I was younger, my mom used to get mad at me for “leaving my hair ties all over the floor”. She didn’t believe it was my cat until she saw him jump up onto my dresser, take a tie out of the jar, and walk away with it in his mouth. He would lounge around holding them in his paws. That boy loved his hair ties 😂❤ Beautiful build btw. Love the two tone.

What you might want to do is list what packs go into the actual building--the doors and windows, and to a lesser degree, wallpapers, furniture, appliances, etc. Because if you use a ton of packs just to decorate, that's no biggie. It won't disrupt anything someone doesn't have the pictures or knickknacks.

This has made me all the more hopeful they’ll release an hotel pack soon (managing different units isn’t much different than managing rooms)
