I really loved this series for two reasons: one, as a novice, it provided a simple but strong framework for thinking about chess as a whole. This is more valuable for me than a tutorial on a specific opening. And second, it was very entertaining along the way :-).

Great series! I enjoyed seeing the evolution of the same opening at various ELO rating ranges. The commentary, repetition of patterns, and pointing out familiar themes was very helpful. Can you do more climbs from 400-1900 while using the same opening for each climb ex. London & gambits King or Queen. Thanks for considering and appreciate the content.

I've been waiting for this one

Agree that this is the best tutorial around and I just wanted more, and higher level. Not that I'm so high level but would love to try to learn it. Love the idea that there are different habits for different levels. This helps players at each level have a simple reasonable template to master for their level, with an acceptance that the habit at a lower level may not apply or have to be reversed later. It's ridiculous to try, as some tutorials do, to teach lower players from the start everything a GM might be thinking. It's much more realistic and helpful to say, for example: If you are a new player, simply capture pieces of equal value. This is not a good habit later, but it's a good educational method to learn it and then unlearn it. Big fan of letting opponents beat you in order to demonstrate that good play can beat habits. The habits are solid but chess is complex and knowing when to deviate from the habits is part of being a good player. Takes a lot of experience. Watching the habits lose also shows the consequences: here's why we wouldn't want to do this next time. Also love 5:30, that moment when a GM doing a tutorial loses patience for a moment and says to himself, "Ah the hell with this simple stuff, I can't resist," and busts out a six-move tactic that no one at this level could have possibly seen, then says "You guys all saw that ..." Excellent work, Aman.

I really liked the parts where you explained theory and showed it off in a couple of games. Like the pins in the side, or the super fast checkmates against certain defences. A lot of the series just showed you win when doing safe moves but the theory and analysis parts where my favourite so more of that would be nice!

Great series, thanks for putting it together. The last episode with the guy who hung his queen made me laugh more than I have in a while. I am improving a lot too, would appreciate an in-depth series on how to avoid people who try and do fast checkmates, I still fall for them all of the time.

A series on when you should and shouldn't waste or use time and learning to spot where the crucial move is when converting to an endgame . Maybe going over end games in general? This series has gotten me 150 elo pushing me into the mid 1300 range where matches are fun and exciting even though I don't know a single lick of theory or openings yet lol. If I had to bet on a best of 10 between you and Eric I'd probably bet on you. Eric can be a real wizard with her aggression and fastcalculation but your so consistent and way more confident in your style of play. Easily the best teacher on youtube for me, no comparison.

Rather fragmented episode imho so I looked on the second channel mentioned at the end. I’m only seeing longer versions of the first two in the series there (the first 400 start and the 450 one). I’m still on the fence about this whole series and hope the full versions will help me. Definitely thought provoking - thx!

I loved game 2, in which Aman manoeuvred his King right around the back of his opponent's pawns. I wouldn't even have considered that plan, and it is clear that his opponent didn't either until it was too late and he was running out of moves.

this series is the best sh!t I've ever seen on chess. Just some basic principles. Memorizing lines are just forgotten for casual players, so this is especially good for them (ie me)

Great series! I love your take on this concept, and especially with the rules you introduce. I have one question: In game 2 your strategy was to put pawns on the opposite color of your opponent's bishop. I've heard conflicting advice in bishop endings, which says to put pawns on the same color as your opponent''s bishop to restrict them. Is this an exception because you have same-color bishops and you want to target their pawns? Thanks!
