Dope Bro!! So happy for you. I did this back in 2018 as therapy from losing my dad. I ended up building a studio shed behind my house, and now getting to the deck leading from my back door to it. I still have my spot inside my home, but the shed is where I go to really punch in. Keep it going, and love the My Audio Nerds podcast. Blessing upon blessings to you, and the crew.

This was a good start especially if you're not quite sure what direction to go with the full room. Also being on a budget for the build. I probably would have just cleaned up and made a space for my gear temporarily. I would have then sat down and reached out to GIK acoustics for a free room analysis. You don't have to buy anything but you have access to a room acoustician. I would then slowly plan out the space and take it as a few projects at a time until it's done. I would then have time to build a larger budget for the more complex tasks like the ceiling and the overall room shape with the planned panel installation. Not sure what the overall plan is ,but those wood panels on the walls are super reflective and will make it hard to hear anything for critical listening in the space. I would have removed them and looked at making a fabric wall. There are budget fabric wall solutions available that you can really tune down a really bouncy space with. Andrew Masters used this method in his bonus room space and it is working out very well. He does full band tracking in his space.

This is dope, I do home rempairs and painting for a living and i recently got into making beats about 3 years ago as a hobby and I got to build my home studio which has been evolving over the last couple years as I learn more and more about treatment and stuff. This is so much fun to do and to watch you do as well lol, can't wait for part 2. I can't wait until I can't wait to build my house bc Im gonna go crazy on the studio!

I'd love for you to do a "Fixing Subscribers Tracks" video. 😆🙌 I have a track w/ the stems etc that I am not overly happy with.. It's nowhere near what I imagined, wrote/rehearsed. I do plan to continue working on it, even though I wanted it pretty much laid down in my last session.. hopefully my engineer can sort it out, he was happy with it but I'm definitely not - I think that it sounds way OFF in a lot of places. My vocals dont sound/sit right. 😥

Gik acoustics have amazing bass traps and 4in panels that I have in my home studio. And also they do custom panels! which I also invested in and was so worth it for aesthetic pleasing lil touch.

stop using foam! Foam only absorbs really high frequencies. Use thick Rockwool, absorbs so much more of the frequency spectrum 💯
