The fact that your wife assisted and supports your journey is amazing, so thanks for sharing. Will go and check out pt1 shortly, as I walk down the stars to my creative place. My (unfinished theater room) creative space still doesn't have walls or a ceiling and I've been stuck in the collective engineering (GAS = gear acquisition syndrome) and have ALL that I really need to get down to it. Your vid was "another" reminder to get that studio soundproofed and keep moving.

Nothing as exciting as putting together a new space! Nothing as sad as being forced out of a space. Only happened to me once in 31 years I've been working as an engineer tho. It's also a joy to tweak and innovate as you go. Some of my best studio design moments have come when I was like "wait, what if I move this to here and that to there?" My only concern on your ceiling treatment is gluing all that stuff up there the way you did. At some point you may need to get behind all that and it's gonna be a mess. Best wishes from Pittsburgh!

Yo bro, it looks great. Congratulations! I am happy for you. A tip: the table and the tv will be a cause of more reflections. The best way as it pertains to sound is to have both sides of the room the same and to have the least of reflections as possible. I wouldn't even do a desk, instead have something where your computer, speakers and analog gear is on. Skip the rest outta there, it will improve the quality and sound. This is what they do in real studios which is one of the biggest tricks to reach the pro listening for mixing and mastering environment. BUT... if this is a multipurpose studio, not only for music but also for other things, you can ignore everything I said previously. I am building a multipurpose studio but am keeping a focus on the sound of the room, that's why I wanted to share it with you because some people do not know these things. Bless.

I hear ya and know that the desk reflections will cause dips in the frequency curve in the low mids. But the convenience of having a desk is too high. Plus this won’t only be a studio for music but also a podcasting space

@@HelpMeDevvon Good, there are ways to go around it when you know it in the box where it checks your room and corrects it. Try to have everything the same from left to right and front to back as much as possible tho. The ways around those reflections are hard to get out. For example, the tv hanging high up above the diffusers, make the room as close to reflecting the same from every side as possible. I would almost say, if the tv stays, put something in the angle of the reflection that counters it. Good luck with everything. I am excited for you. Bless
