As a kid...I got up, blasted through chores, grabbed my cereal, and sat down for Saturday morning cartoons. As an adult...I put coffee on the pot, finish up chores for the pregnant wife, and sit down for Saturday morning G&G content.

Crazy smart but yet never primed the oil pump before starting the engine and then continued to run the engine with no oil pressure, probably causing damage 🤦‍♂️ Sounds real smart!

Yeah, its pretty much the exact opposite from the subaru world where the 6 speed is the desired transmission. If youve got an evo and youre gonna start pushing more power you will eventually end up with a built 5 speed.

I went through two 6spds before finally giving up and putting in a new 5. I miss the old trans, but this one is bullet proof. Hard to not be okay with that LOL

9:09 Suggestion for future builds - pull the fuse for injectors and crank the engine until it builds oil pressure rather than running the engine. If oil pressure doesn't show on the gauge, disconnect the turbo oil feed line so you can see if it is pumping oil. Safer than running the engine without knowing if it has oil flowing through it.

Had owned an evo8 for 6yrs. Picked up my 2nd evo which an evo9 and planning on having rs motors build it. Im pretty sad that these cars are destroyed and totaled but happy to say im getting my hands on one the the last true jdm performance cars.

That oil system should of been pressurized before the first turn of the key. Always every time.

From what I've seen these guys at rs motors know what they are doing to an extent. Definitely not the best in the business that's for sure lol.

On the 4g63 you have to manually turn the oil pump BEFORE you mount the belt etc. This is a really dumb and dangerous mistake!

I recently rebuilt mine and it took a good while to get oil pressure, even after packing up the oil pump with vaseline!

I had a Evo Ix MR the year it came out in 2006. I feel your numbers should be a lot better than that or maybe it’s your tuners. I ran straight bolt ons, cosworth cams, turbo back exhaust, no cat, bigger injectors, new blow off valve, new intake, excedy twin clutch, and stock turbo. did 2 maps, 110/ race gas and 1 on 91. On pump It put out around 360hp and on race fuel I put down 415hp to the wheels on 32 pounds of boost. and ran mid 11’s on the quarter mile. Tuned by Tunning Technologies in SoCal.

It’s why I love my EVO. Yes it’s an older car but throw some serious mods with a mechanic/tuner that knows what they r doing and it’s like having a brand new car again. When I did my build and striker kit even with a stock IX turbo u could not take the smile off my face 👊🏻

I always prime the oil system on 4g63s by spinning the pump before installing the timing belt until I see oil in the head. You can't get rid of the lifter tick but it goes away sooner and you avoid this exact issue. Just grab a drill and put a socket in it and spin away
