Building Onto The Interior Of Our Home

3 жыл бұрынWe are expecting rain for the next couple of days so this is the perfect time to hunker down inside and work on decorating the interior of our home. Our goal is to start finishing our great room and also pick our the tile backsplash for our kitchen.

We are a couple who are building our own home from the ground up in the mountains of West Virginia. After living near the city our entire lives we finally decided to sell it all, pack up our 3 kids and live in an RV on our 73 acres while building our own off-grid house and learning to live a more self-reliant life.
Our house build is documented entirely on our main channel "Wild Wonderful Off-Grid". This channel is dedicated to short vlogs showing our life outside the build.

I would have built the unit on the opposite wall and the reasons : 1) Can watch TV from the cooking area. 2) The position of the couch would mean you get to see the wood stove. 3) get to see the main door than have your back to it. 4) the kitchen unit and current TV unit makes that side of the house busy ( visually heavy) and the other side lighter. Imo 💖

Toogetti , sooo cute! I miss that age so bad. My oldest called it scabetti, my youngest called it pascetti. I never corrected them for the longest time, cause I loved their little voices saying it. I love that you get it, staying in the moment, and enjoying that sweet baby and the boys , not rushing them to grow up, letting them be wee ones , and loving where they are. Y'all are so blessed. 🙏🏽❤

Took me 2 1/2 years to build my house , moved in 1990 , and I still have some odds and ends . We’ve even remolded some parts . The original odds and ends aren’t done . Life gets in the way .

@@JoshandErinWWOG I came across your original channel when it was recommended through watching UK house building v USA house building techniques. Your channel makes it a lot more interesting than all the others. They are advertising their services. You are just sharing your dream. Thats what makes it so popular i think. Spending most of the year under some kind of confinement or restrictions has been made a lot easier by your videos. In a strange kind of way your freedom and progress this year has made my personal stagnation a lot easier. Must be getting sentimental in my encroaching old age. Just keep on being happy and silly.

We frequented the Lowes nearest us a lot during the building of our home. So much so that I got to know most of the Department managers. Like you, it's an hour drive. I worked for a year at Home Depot in Minneapolis after I retired but before we moved to the Black Hills. The 2x3's we had were junk. Twisted like nobody's business. Erin, I constantly marvel at the growth in your videography and story telling. And as usual, Ellie's smile sweeps me away.

When you said Manassas my ears perked up big time when Home Depot first moved into Dale City Virginia, I worked for them and help set that store up for opening. I worked in the electrical and lighting that was my specialty. I actually lived in Manassas and that just struck a chord with me. It's nice to know that I can have a small connection because I enjoy watching your show and I enjoy seeing the different things that the two of you create together because they come out wonderful.
