Building shelter in freezing winter wood

This is me trying to build my tent paradise in the dead of winter in Canada's North. I made a lot of mistakes along the way and I learned a whole lot too. This is not to spec and as you will see, clearly built by a greenhorn. But I'm proud, and I love this place more than anywhere else on Earth. It's now very solid and warm and cozy and prefect for me.
Don't be afraid to go out there and try stuff that you don't know how to do. It's invigorating to do things when people tell you you have no business trying. It's even more special when you get the job done, your way on your terms, for you.
Take care.
Jay
What gear did I use during this project?
Canon 90D/80D cameras
Rode videomicro
Sigma Art 18-35
Canon 1.8 50mm stm
Canon 18-55mm stm
Canon 10-18mm stm
I do not live at the tent. I just visit whenever I can.

I watched just about every video from start to finish, and until now I didn't realize how much work you put into just the work on the tent, not including the time spent on keeping us up to date. Great job brother.

So Beautiful! Loved it. 💖thank you so much for sharing your journey with me tonight. At the end please know I shared your accomplishments, a mutual hot cup of coffee at your new table and the mutual peace and beauty of it all. I could even smell the new wood smell , the pines outside and the hot coffee coffee in your mug and felt your peace.. Many heartfelt thanks.

Hunted with a wall tent for almost 20 years. Never hauled all that wood out like that and only a canvase floor and a blue tarp on top. Had to tune the stove down to keep from running us out when it got too hot and it was in the teens many times. This, while impressive, seems like a lot of work for achieving the same goal. Maybe I missed something.

I'd like to do this but I'd be worried about bears. Especially in Grizzly country, cooking food in the tent. Definently couldn't live like that long term. In winter it might work (they hibernate) but not in summer.

No-no-no Jay. This video is no good. You need to have a dog with you, and your dog must have an eskimo name. Your subscriber tally will soar, I think. The dog must start off as a puppy - preferably malamute - so you can train him to ride on the Ski-Doo. From New Brunswick where we are CoVid free.
