I've been a fan of your channel for over a year now, since 2019. In this one though, Cali has done this before so often she just manages to take centre stage behind you in so many shots it's as if she is fully aware of the camera and photo bombs you all of the time. I'd enjoy the process of your log cabin buildings taking form at such a relaxing pace anyways, even if Cali was not present...but with Cali added to the mix. She really loves the underneath of that porch, I think she's claimed it as hers.

Cali seems to be adopting the area beneath your porch as her official dog house. 😁😁 The perfect place to be dry, out of the sun, to snooze and then be ready to pounce on any small mammals passing by. Great looking stairs.

@@ThejaBreLoL You realize that a dogs double coat also acts as a coolant for them as well as an insulator, right? It is why you should never shave a double coated dog for the summer because it actually makes it so they can't regulate their heat.

This is really nothing short of amazing. I've been watching Shawn working just about nonstop for a number of years. with amazing skills. to be there by yourself with no help, plus planning which is not easy at all. I think most people would not be able to cut just one log. and clean off the tree bark. let alone build an entire cabin with no help. simply Amazing. wishing you many more years of peaceful days and years.

The campsite around the new cabin is really looking quite well organised with a makeshift table and seat, the campfire set for the business of good meals, and the cabin in the background well underway. Shawn, I’m starting to get the real feel good feeling I had with the old cabin build, the new cabin is starting to feel like a home rather than just a building site. Like with the old cabin it’s not just walls and roof as shelter, it’s the life you live outside around your shelter, an extension of the home. Feeling good👍🏼

What a nice place you have. I love the storage below the house. So much room for your vegetables and whatever else you decide can be put there. It gets better and better. So many wild animals around. Cali is so, so sweet laying under the porch foundation. I think that place is going to be a keeper even when the cabin is finished. Smart move, it will keep her warm and dry in the Winter. Except it appeared to contain chives which are toxic to dogs, like all vegetables in the Allium family (onions, garlic, shallots, leeks, and chives). Many vegetables are good for our dogs but some things that are very good for us can be very harmful to them and you need to be vigilant when giving them "human food". Most people are unaware of this toxicity until their pet gets ahold of something they thought was innocuous and ends up getting sick. BTW, I've also emailed Shawn to alert him so that he's aware.

No one's passing judgement on anyone here. Trying to raise awareness that vegetables in the Allium family are highly toxic to dogs and cats is called a public service. Most people have no idea until their dog or cat gets into a food containing some type of allium and gets sick. Now back under your bridge, troll.

I know that sound well! Those are Sandhill cranes. They make their way back and forth between your place an mine in North central Florida! We’re recently in my yard, walking around the neighborhood…….went to get out of my car at the grocery store and one was standing by my car door….they are huge!

I have to smile every time I see Cali. Many years ago, I bought a Golden Retriever and of course, she looked just like Cali. I had 3 boys and they played together all day long. What great pets they make. Wonderful dogs. That was back in the late 70's. I love the face they have, almost looking sad but, the rear end shows a different attitude. She's a great pet James, I love her from a far!!!!

Shawn you are an inspiration. You make it look like things are so easy to do inspite of doing everything manually. It feels like you're camping every day and every day is an adventure😀. Cali is a very loyal companion.
