This is one of the things i really enjoyed about this show. In the comics, when Bruce Wayne's parents are brought up, it's usually his dad that's discussed. In a few of them you find out that young Bruce was and is extraordinarily devoted to his mother, to the point that Alfred mentions it a few times. I'm glad that got translated into this show...

You know I can’t remember if it was an actual comic or a fan one but there was a comic with Alfred having had hired all of Batman’s villains but a method actor maybe the riddler if my memory serves correct, ruined it and ended up killing Bruce in that one, which I doubt was canon if it was real anyway

But "yes i know Alfred is not Bruce's biological father." -However- for the sake of retort; Alfred has often acted, been treat as, and for all concepts been seen as bruces "adopted father" Alfred fills the "role" of Bruce's father growing up after his parents had been killed. Plus being Bruce's legal guardian onto adult hood, raising him, and instilling in him morals and many values. Alfred is Bruce's father even if not biological or called such because this was the man that was there and help Bruce grow into the man he is.
