I heard it’s expensive plus the fuel \ food costs! The undercover cops are mixed in with the people so taking a risk just to party for a few days is a no go!

Nobody was stranded. They were delayed by a day or so. Some folks panicked and walked out. End of story.

I know because flash floods are happening all over the country. But nothing beats Katrina in Louisiana where coffins were floating up out of the ground and down the street. Aside from our Republican rat issues here in Manhattan we're sitting pretty. As for the migrant issue it's being handled and it's an ongoing issue other than that now we know who God is punishing.

Not a chance. The few people who get stuck will be pulled out by others with more suitable vehicles. If you poke around youtube you can see it happening. The 'news' channels are using three day old clips to make it look like an ongoing issue.

Honestly it sounds like many of them are making do with it, resourceful, and getting by just fine... Sadly someone died but it's a festival in a fairly extreme environment with substances floating around and that's bound to happen at some point. It's the media who sees an opportunity to call the situation "treacherous" and the public who sees the people there as easy targets to poke fun at. Tbh seems like a wonderful group of people to be trapped in the desert with. Not interested in the media's sensationalism.

Burning did not even end until today. People were not stranded. The Playa is not too muddy now and they are leaving right on schedule. There is ALWAYS that big line leaving. These news outlets made much more out of this than was necessary. Hopefully, however, this overexagerated coverage will keep some people away next year...

Bro i remember being stuck in a car for three days in this same situation. With friends. Luckyly we went grocery shopping and someone who found us tolled us out with their truck. My car got covered in mud and i had to clean it underneath and inside then sell it.

Doubt it. The way the clay mud cakes up it'd have probably ruined a set of chains. Bag covered snow shoes, maybe. But I think eventually the clay mud would be heavy and uncomfortable to walk in. Although some people did walk out of the festival so it wasn't impossible
