This is the earliest I have ever been at my bush camp for the winter season. I've got big plans for this spot this winter, but in this episode it's just about getting things in order. Join me for a nice night of fun and food at the bush camp.

A couple of things you can do to help with insect control is a fly trap and fly sticky strips. I also use the sticky mouse traps to catch spiders. They work great. If you need more pallets, you can check with your local Meeks Lumber. The Meeks where I live at in Stone County Missouri sets them out in the front of their parking lot for people to haul off for free. I use them in my fireplace. When I clean out the ashes, I use a magnet to make sure I get all the nails out also. Great video Jay!!!!

Jay, I’m glad your here. Its a beautiful get away. It’s looking really good. Just like home away from home. It’s so peaceful and quiet. I usually go to our local park and feed the squirrels. That was my quiet time. I think I’ll just hang around for awhile, you won’t even know I’m here. A cup of coffee would be nice in the morning. Yes, 80 is a bit warm. Thanks it was a lot of fun. I’ll see you the next time your here. ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️. ☺️

Good to see you back. Now my winter is more fun. I have some ideas for your tent; Secure the wooden boards against moisture, so they do not become crooked, like the door. Insulate the inside, saving you energy to heat up. Make a hatch at the opposite end of the door, with a large closed box on the outside, the box you fill with firewood so you do not have to go out in the cold and wind. Hope you can use this ideas. I will continue to enjoy your videos and maybe come up with more ideas / suggestions. Good winter tent season.

Jay, as someone said a propane stove is easier, but like you I think I would continue to use White Gas because a gallon of white gas is much easier to transport than a 20 pound propane tank, and then you might need a second propane tank as a spare. It seemed the burner flame was too yellow, it should be blue tongues of flame. If there is a cleaning pin on the stove, try rotating it a few times. This cleans out the jet that allows the gas to hit the burner. Also check where the gas pipe goes into the stove. Spiders might have put a nest in there which would reduce fuel flow. It is amazing a man will leave a comfortable warm house to live in a tent. I'm with you on that.

Wasn't expecting to see you snowmobiling across a frozen lake this early, but glad to see you can get back to the tent quickly again. Looking forward to another season of tent camping and steady improvements around the place. My central air conditioner is still running here in Florida, so seeing the snow and ice is a nice change of pace for me. Sure is pretty when you don't have to shovel any of it. :-)

You know I love your channel and you are a great man. I have a suggestion....buy a self igniting torch. You have five 1 pound bottles of propane...put a self igniting torch on one and easy fire starter. Matches can be a back up. About sleeping bags....I got a WOODS YUKON 10 one year ago on sale at Canadian Tire. It is a heavy sleeping bag but is rated to -45C. The bag even comes with a pillow. Check it out on line. Watching you cook on the wood stove....a CI griddle would be perfect for that.
