Yes. I recommend to buy from Malabar, Kalyan, Joyalukkas, Bheema - trusted brands. These sell 22 carat gold which is valuable in India. Gold souk is good for a visit, not to buy gold.

Hello mam i saw your video its very helpful im going to Dubai in April with my wife and want to buy gold Kada for me of 20-25 grms should I wear artificial kada from India and in return wear the gold one or i can wear the gold kada from dubai only what is the process of immigration at airport please guide. Do officials note what we are wearing while going and wearing while coming back to India..

Thanks for the comment. While leaving India, no one checks anything. But while coming back if you are wearing too much of gold, then official's may check. Or Normally also they can ask if you are wearing gold, like from where did you buy? You can say you wore it while leaving India. You always had it with you. Thank you for your comment. Depends on what kind of gold you want to buy. Lesser karat means obviously gold rate will be less. Simple design you need means very less making charges. If you have a good bargaining skill, and need lesser karat gold, then my suggestion is buy from gold souk. Is gold prices same across all shops in Dubai ? 22k same price in all shops ?

22k gold rate what I showed in the video, was same as market price. You can always verify it when bill is made. I don't think gold rate would vary, becuase customers would cross verify. But making charges is something the shop keeper will play around.. Do not believe if someone says no making charges. It is a business, simply they cannot give an ornament for a gold price.. that's why I have made this video to educate people.

I had selected a pair of gold earring to buy in gold souk. Shopkeeper told the final rate to be double of actual gold quantity. We will have to bargain. But even then, it won't be as plain as just gold rate. So I believe making charges are there, even though explicitly not mentioned. I personally dropped the idea of buying in gold souk as I didn't have time or patience to bargain.

i will be taking my wife for 2 days trip and i will be going to US and she will be back to chennai. how much gold can she bring to india . m abit confused as she will be coming back alone. usually as per law 40 grams are allowed but as she stay only 2 days i do no how much she is allowed to bring gold to india

@johnbosco77 even if 2 days your wife will have tourist visa I belive . So should not be a problem with gold. Usually customs are not strict for tourists unless it is too much of gold. 40gm is fine I believe.

If you need 22K gold then better to buy from a branded shop like Malbar, Joyalukkas etc. If you need 21K , 19k or 18K gold then you can check in Gold Souk, shop name is Kaanz. Trustworthy brand. They have lot of branches within gold souk. Check and bargain on total bill. I hope this helps.

Officially you can't get gold to India unless you stayed in Dubai for one year at least. But unofficially you can get, but wear it and don't keep in bag. We can bring 24grams of gold to India.. Keep bills. Submit the bills at Airport on demand. No need to wear. Can keep in your handbag.

@@LifeOfBooksAndTravels thankyou. We are a family of 3 including my wife and daughter. You had purchased a set of bangle. I see that you have purchased it for approx 1.3 lakhs after conversion. After all the charges you also mentioned that you saved 30k as compared to India which is great. Since my wife and child are travelling, I'm also planning to purchase for both of them. But looking at the shine of brand new gold, didn't the Bangalore customs ask you or stop you? You will wear it, but what if they check your bag and find out the original joyallukas bill and case. Will they do that?

@rlakshman85 I understand your concern.. Usually such small amount of gold is not caught. Recently my friend also came who bought more than me, and no customs was done. In terminal 2 bangalore, currently no strict custom checking.
