That’s my childhood chocolate, it’s just orange flavoured chocolate shaped to look like an orange, I grew up getting it my stocking every year, it’s delicious!

It's called chocolate orange because it's a literal orange made of chocolate. It has slices and the little orange looking bits and the orange flavoring. If it was orange chocolate it would just be a hunk of orange flavored chocolate LOL

What first comes to mind is the shape of the egg rather than the taste. Do you expect to taste a raw egg when you bite one? And it's smaller than an actual egg, so of course not. 🤷

As someone who grew up with an aunt that made homemade foods I personally prefer making it. It seems more better and you know what is in it than getting it in a factory or already pre made.

Love that you put your own spin on it, but you can never replace a Terry’s Chocolate Orange…it’s its own thing 🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s not Christmas unless there’s a chocolate orange on the table. It always reminds me of my Dad. His birthday is Christmas Eve and one of his presents was always a Terry’s dark Chocolate Orange. He’s 85 this year and still munching on his favourite treat 😀

Those chocolate oranges, specifically the milk chocolate ones, are a "tradition" in my family, we always get one in our stockings every year, bashing them is always so fun and I think they taste amazing (being able to melt them completely is a plus imo, guilty pleasure is putting a slice or two into warm/hot (enough to melt it) milk)

Candied orange dipped in chocolate is not the same as an orange made out of orange flavored chocolate. Your recipes are always amazing, but Terrys makes an amazing line of these chocolates. The Raspberry is fantastic.

The company isn’t wrong. Because “chocolate orange” basically means “ chocolate shaped orange” but shortened. And “orange chocolate “ means “orange flavoured chocolate “ but shortened.

what's up with all of the UK weirdos trying to defend the choice of wording for Terry's Chocolate Oranges? lol such a bizarre thing to want to white knight for xD a chocolate orange inherently implies an orange covered in chocolate, similar to how a candy apple implies an apple covered in a candy coating. Orange chocolate implies chocolate that is flavored with orange, which is the case here. You probably mean that a "chocolate orange" implies chocolate that is orange-shaped, but that doesn't work due to what I had mentioned previously. It's not the same thing as, say, a chocolate shoe, where it is obvious that it's shoe-shaped chocolate and not a shoe covered in chocolate. But if I gave you chocolate strawberries, and they were just hollow pieces of chocolate, wouldn't you be disappointed lol?
