This KZfaq video show how to replace the bar and chain on the Harbor Freight Portland Chicago Electric Power Tools polesaw pruner trimmer and where to find replacement parts.
If you are wondering how do you cut high branches or cut a broken tree branch, this pole saw is great for tree and brush trimming. At least until it breaks. I have searched Walmart, Lowe's and even Home Depot and Menard's but couldn't find the part for this pole saw. I eventually found the parts at Amazon.
The links below will help you find the parts you need.

I love my Kobalt Pole Saw - 80-volt - 5ah battery - 10" Bar - 6 ft / 8ft foot Pole Saw. I have been using it for more than 3 years now. It works great on my southeast Louisiana farm clearing property that a hurricane went through and trashed all the trees in the woods of our 20-acre farm. Today I'll be cutting a 6-inch limb off of a tree out front.

Thanks, this was super helpful. Someone gave the Chicago Electric pole saw, brand new in the box, but it was missing the bar, chain, and chain guard. I wasn't finding replacement part info looking in the typical parts sites, but you resolved what parts were needed and where to find them.

Thank you so much i have been pulling my hair out!! So I just need to get an 8" blade then I hope? I wasn't able to get it to be as tight as I would of liked it to be and would keep coming really loose fast.

it's actually its weird I don't know what in the hell is going on 🤬. I put on the 8-inch chain and tightened it up, but every time I start cutting something it comes loose right away. I don't know if something's wrong with the tensioner screw that turn to tighten up the chain. When I do tighten it I will turn the screw as far as it will go and it is a little looser than I would normally set it at

Do you have a link for finding where to get a replacement drive sprocket? This is the 6 tooth sprocket under the cap at the other end for the saw chain. I have searched and only come across a Oregon PS250 kit, which looks like the right one. Just want to see if there is another source for it. Thank you.

Robert, After you fixed the oil feed. Did you have any problems with the oil again? Next question, When you used the pole saw after the repair. Did you noticed the oil in the site glass is going down and the bar looks like it's kind of wet from the oil ? (working) ? I noticed my bar looked dry . So, I took the cover off and removed the chain. I plugged the pole saw in and watched the oil port and it was feeding the oil to the bar. It had a lot of dirt inside the cover and I thought this might be limiting the oil feed. I cleaned everything and closed it up. I put a few drops of oil on the bar and started it up again and watched. I guess I'll have to watch the site glass to see if the oil is going down before I burn up the bar. Thank you big time for this video. Awesome job Robert !

Do you have any idea where to get a socket head cap screw that holds on the sprocket guard? The parts book just says 8 * 25. I'm thinking this is my last Harbor Freight purchase even though the saw was ok for what I paid for it. Any ideas on the allen head screw?

The real question on anything electric is the brushes. Which is the only reason I watched your original video. Note that the brushes on this motor are replaceable but not made to be replaced (which is what has killed every electric chainsaw I've ever owned). And fyi, any brushes you find on Amazon aren't worth the shipping fee even if it's Prime/free. They're all literally dust in the wind and won't last much more than 5 or 10 minutes of unloaded running. Your best bet is to find a electric tool with replaceable brushes that are larger than the brushes you need, order a set and grind them down to the right size to fit your need.

I just received mine this morning, no cap (item# 32) for oil tank with the saw, I suspect who ever forwarded this from the Harbor Freight outpost location cannibalized it. I tried different caps I found in my garage, but no luck, as yet.

replacement bar and chain are available at Lowe's and Home Depot they are listed in Oregons catalog as Chicago electric or just plain Chicago. Spoke to a Oregon not but 20 minutes ago. You're not going to find the exact same bar and chain, because they are the dirt cheapest ones made by Oregon for oem's like harbor freight. harbor freight calls it a 9 1/2 inch bar and chain but it is actually an 8 inch bar and chain because they measured it like a dumba**
