Brings back memories. I had a red 87 with the sport package--they were very rare. The car was a ton of fun. The only car that I've had that was more fun than my 2001 Miata. I miss that rotary engine.

I wanted to see someone test the backseats of a RX7 for a long time :)) Can you guys also test the backseats of an FD? I know that fd's with backseats are quite rare in the US, since they only came on the jdm models, but really curios if they're usable

Welcome to the club! brap brap! I had to drive 10 hours to get mine, 90' GTUs. She drove all the way back home and is still going strong. err.. welcome back to the club! And heck yeah you can get over 30 in a N/A FC mine gets around 33 when hypermiling, ...and about 15 when i'm having fun.

GR Auto Gallery in Michigan has some really good examples of these early Mazdas. My personal favorite is a 1984 RX-7 with only 25,000 miles, ONE OWNER. Even with the original dealer key tag.

are you suppossed to be adding oil in the gas tank for these rx7s? when i had my 86 rx7 turbo ,I never added oil in the tank, nor did i on any rx7 of any yr...is it just for extra safety or is it only needed if the oil pump is bad?

Little bit of both. If your OMP still works, a lot of people still premix as a safety precaution. When the OMP goes, it goes without warning. If you remove your OMP, you HAVE to premix.

The rx7 was doom with the rotary fun motor but a junk motor rip it out but in a v8 and they didnt get no 30mpg bullshit these motor get hot burn oil and leak all the time I've had 3 all trash only truth in video was the junk shifter bushings

Check the VIN, but I’m pretty sure that is an ‘87 not an ‘86. Beautiful car either way 👌

Mazda switched the rear “Mazda” decal to a plastic badge starting in 1987, possibly in late 1986. Previously, both “Mazda” and “RX-7” were decals. Both were switched to plastic badges starting in 1988.

The motors are so much fun but they're such piles of shit owned 3 the link run hot burn oil only good for 60k 30mpg will never happen want a good cheap fun car get a 300zx
