I was in the Bicol region last year. That' where one side of my wife's family is from, and we were visiting them. It's a beautiful part of the country, and even though they are not as good at communicating in English, they were amazingly hospitable. Have you been to the Philippines before? did the family go with?

I have drooled over the Hilux since 2012 when I went to Nicaragua on a mission trip. Took a rented one 8hrs into the interior, through 4 river crossings, all 3-4' deep and decent current. Got it stuck several times. That thing was incredible!!! If we still had a government of the people by the people and for the people, we'd have the hilux in the US

@alannitcher5001
@alannitcher5001 Ай бұрын
@mrmotofy The only way to bring a truck to market and pass emissions and/or cafa standards is to go big to get into the next weight class. I looked at a new Tacoma, the gvwr was 6200 pounds. For a mid-size truck. 20 years ago, it would have been 4250 - 5100 pounds. And let's not forget the chicken tax.

trust me, EVERY farmer in my area of the UK that had a Hilux has sold it and bought a Ford Ranger and are adamant they wont go back. admittedly theyre diesel and manual, in both vehicles.
@dwitcraft
@dwitcraft Ай бұрын
Understand that one of the reasons we don't have $15,000 vehicles is that manufacturers know Americans will pay $40,000+ for a new vehicle, significantly reducing their incentive to sell the cheaper one. Look at Ford, they dropped cars, because the margins on trucks/SUVs were higher, then they brought out the Maverick and demand was huge! They've hiked the price annually, and slowly increased production, because they still think that everyone who bought a Maverick is potentially someone who could have bought a Bronco or an F150 for more$. A lot of our inflationary pressure in the US now is profit taking rather than cost driven.

why wait 15 years? just look around for a 2005 Hiux and import it next year! you can get your choice of 1KD-FTV 3L i4 or a 2KD-FTV in 2.5L diesel! also you could look into mistubishi's L200 or isuzu's Dmax, mazda BT-50 etc, im from chile and we have all those not as badly beat up for what is a couple grand (most expensive ones from 05 is around 8k USD) maybe shipping from thailand could also be a good choice!

There are many organizations here in the US that help poor children and adults. For example, my wife and I are involved with Operation Gratitude. They assist our Troops, First Responders, and underprivileged Vets and their families. My wife and I also belong to a local Sunday church affiliated with the Missions in downtown Los Angeles where we live. A lot of this activity happens with little or no publicity so most people would never know they happen. I am Filipino by the way.

The thing with the 2022 Isuzu Elf, is that the car arrived/registered in the PH in 2022, hence the 2022 model. This is also the year stated in the CR. What the seller doesn't mention is when the Isuzu Elf was MANUFACTURED, that's the one you should be asking for. Most of these trucks are surplus arrived from JP hence RHD. They convert them to be LHD and resold in the market. Most Elfs doesn't have the VIN on the dash, but then the dash are hacked during the conversion, and re-fiberglassed to LHD orientation.
