I was in McDonald's a while back and some police officers came in. Some kids were sat eating and one of them turned to the other and said why are policemen always eating donuts. The other just said to him, because they are greedy. Both of them then got back to eating their food. I just stood there chuckling.

I just bought a 2014 Chevy Impala with 49k miles for $2800. You can definitely get good deals with old police cars, BUT you have to go look at them in person first.

We get these in at work by the dozen and I've never seen one with a column shifter, must be PPV package oddity (I'm assuming its relocated to the column so the computer can sit where the console is). That's gonna make finding a regular console a pain in the butt, if you give this thing a paint job and clean it up it'll sell quick. A great price for sure

I'd probably clean the charger, find a regular charger center console, a current gen charger radio, perhaps turn it into a regular charger? having the spotlight is cool and all... But a stock Charger for that little money? sounds like a good idea to me

People talk a lot of trash about the 3.6 Pentastar motors, but just like anything else, take good care of it and it'll easy do 200k+. Most of the plastic components can be replaced with aluminum like the oil filter housing and thermostat housing. The main thing is oil changes frequently and never let it overheat, the mostly plastic motor melts quick but plenty of power and run smooth and quiet.

Loved the intro! Hopefully you got the rocker panels and the inside of the crossmembers/frame rails undercoated on Ol' Blue. My dad paid $200 to have his new truck undercoated and they skipped these... the most important parts to protect!

Wow, great find!! As soon as I saw that car I said, well the police here in South Dakota sure aren’t driving Dodge Chargers! Lol That’s such a great price you paid too. Definitely worth every penny, IMO. I bought a new Lexus SUV this year, and I do love it, but I’d definitely throw a paint job on that Charger and be just as proud to drive it. Very cool! 😎

I bought a front drive impala police cruiser last year at auction. a 2009 I believe I got it for about 1200 bucks it had a new transmission just put in by aamco 10k earlier. It drove it about 5000 miles and the transmission went out again so it was kind of a dud, but I might try it again one day.

I would definitely recommend if you’re going to be keeping the Saab for a while I would suggest to really keep the maintenance up I owned a Saab for awhile and sold it 2 years ago and parts are very hard to find I whenever I needed parts I had to order from Europe and have them shipped over to the states

edit: watched the video and see you figured it out lol Newer Dodge Vehicles usually have an monitor for engine hours built into the car settings right? Maybe you can do some digging to see if that's possible on these models. Will tell you how long it's sat Idle vs how many miles it has on it. Hope this helps you figure that out! We've got some 2020 dodge ram trucks and work and most of them have under 10,000 miles and over a thousand engine hours lol

Saab's have a great undercoating applied from the factory. Watertight unlike Ziebart which ends up destroying cars. Rust usually starts on the quarter panels, doors and front fenders. Watch for the water pump on that car as they all start to go around 170-200k. Only use 0W-40 full synthetic with ACEA certification (Castrol Suntec, Mobil 1) and change every 5000 miles and it will run forever . Those early Ecotec's were bulletproof.

I have quite a few NYS trooper vehicles and it's not mileage, it's hours. I bought some '16 AWD pursuit Chargers for just over 5k and another for 6.5k, both hemi cars with low hours and mileage. Most barracks have a wash that keeps road salt from eating them to Swiss cheese. I still get plain clothes P71 Vics for 4500 in mint condition from the midwest and down south.

With all the bad press about the V6 this car would be a good little project, do engin oil analysis and transmission and some longevity testing to see if it really is a good daily driver for someone in need of a good used car.

That’s a okay buy. I get 2014+ ones here in Oregon with the v8 for around 5k and 110k miles but only 3000 idle hours. You got a okay deal, any multicolor police ones are worth about 50% as a paint job would be very expensive and nobody wants to drive a car that looks like a cop.

I've flipped around 30 police cars, mostly Impalas. 5.7 chargers have been the biggest headaches, with a ton of stupid problems. But they sell fast, fun to drive, and make a bunch of cash.

I pretty much have to do cams and lifters in every one I have purchased. Drive shaft carrier bearing is another part that I do often.

Well it would depend on the use of the car and area it came from like Mayberry verses LA. The one you bought looks like a good deal. A car coming from a high crime area is going to be used harder most likely. And there's a difference between State , town and city cars as well on how they are used. 😊👍

Yeah the V6 Chargers have more giddy up than you’d think. I was just in Dallas on a business trip a couple of weeks ago and Enterprise gave me a base Charger for a rental…boy did that thing fly on the highway. Of course in Texas, you can do 80+ on the highway and nobody cares…

I think only police cars have the column shift. That's because the center console is taken up by all the police equipment and there's no room for a shifter there.

One way road trip the charger, sell it and fly home. High end luxury used cars are heavily depreciating now. This means regular cars are 6 - 9 months out.
