People are getting smarter and wiser everyday on turning tiny sheds into houses and trucks and busses into homes on wheels. It’s truly amazing what people can think of on putting a roof over there heads. I love this.

I've recently loved the idea of taking two sheds and connect them to make a carport. The larger side for a lounge, bath, and kitchen, and the other, smaller side, for an office/library. Over the carport I'd make a loft bedroom.

Hey, I love the idea of turning a shed into a home for those that want to go that route, but from my research, if you are going to build a small house 12x16 or 12x20, it may make more sense to just build the traditional route. Lumber prices are falling and you need less than 200 2x4's to build a small cabin and at an average of $3.00 per stud, you're only looking at about ($600) worth of wood for the frame. Prefab Roof Trusses on average will run around $50 - $100 each ($1,000 max) Sheathing ($500) and of course screws, bolts, etc and you can build for 1/2 the price for whats shown here especially if you live in state such as mine (Florida/Georgia) where the homeowner is allowed to build his/her own home. You have to remember that whatever the cost of the shed by the manufacture, the price has been double due to their labor. You're looking at around $3,500-$4,500 to build this size to residential code.

You two need to watch a whole lot more tiny house videos. There are very tiny, like itty bitty ones that still manage to have a stackable washer/ dryer , full kitchen w/dishwasher, oven, refrigerator etc. a living room with a tv, full to queen size bed, bathroom with a shower and lots and lots of storage throughout the home. Just type tricked out tiny homes and see what comes up. If you just spent 3 hours watching videos, you’ll see just how doable it actually is

I have lived in a shed! loved my time there but I lost it when I got sick and was paralized 3 months after I had A-Fib. Then after that I got a GI Bleed. I'm fine now...walking , talking, and live in HUD housing (an apartment) ...I miss my privacy and contact with people. you guys are really good at your considerations for a shed. I would want 16 inch on center studing for walls, then electrified for appliances with alot of planning. Like your comment on installing a bath and toilet too. Jim

There is a great sense of creativity and enthusiasm underlying the projects which the authors develop, from a bike shed to a glorious eco-shed. I like the way explanations are provided for decisions made from a range of options. I am not really in a position to rate the more technical detail, but think I am prepared to boldly go shed- building, equipped with this manual.

I love the yellow one. It has so much potential. It does't have to be expensive either. Construction sites can be gold mines from stuff leftover that's too small to be useful to them but be enough for something on a tiny scale. Restore is another great source for all sorts of stuff to use. Same for stuff online. Scoring pallets can get you a pile of free or cheap wood you can use for so many things. One tini home dweller used them is skirting, since their home was on wheels. Then they put both faux and real flowers and both hanging/climbing plants on it and tucked between the slats and it really gave it great curb appeal. Great creative, haunt online marketplaces, keep your eyes open for curbside finds, etc., the possible places to find cheap or free stuff are nearly endless if you keep your mind and your eyes open. And if you aren't into recycle, reuse, refurbish, reinvent found things, IKEA is a great box store to get things on the cheap. Happy building.

Go to tuff shed directly, that’s what I did and I have a two story she shed with all of my demands that I requested such as window size and placement and what door I wanted, and we rebuilt a top story with full insulation drywall and trim ourselves

With a price of the shed and the cost of putting everything in it you need, did you ever check out used travel trailers. That way you just have to move into it you don't have to build a bunch of stuff and you can move it around wherever you need to. You could always buy one of the cheaper sheds to use as storage. I didn't hear you mention anything about a bathroom. Travel trailers usually have a bathroom. 😉 Just a thought.

I've got to give props to you two if you're convinced you could live in an even tinier home. We literally lived in a shed with a bathroom (toilet, sink shower), a room with a dresser/TV stand and a pull-out sleeper sofa, a countertop with a camp stove, 2 plastic tubs and a dish drainer with a tiny area for a pantry/pots/pans, etc. We had to live there for almost 2 years. Doable, but not conducive to a great relationship. Just saying. 😁 We ended up in a 2 story house with a finished basement. Breathing room is necessary no matter how much you love each other. 😂👍❤️

The price of the sheds are enticing but I think it's going to cost you a pretty penny for wiring, plumbing, insulation, and whatever you're going to use for walls. From incredible tiny homes you can get an 8x16 for $20,000, for $25,000 it can be solar, for $30,000 it can be total off grid. Of course your living room is your bedroom. You will have a shower and a toilet and a small kitchen for which you would need to use a hot plate.. oh, by the way it is on wheels.

Wow, I love that you guys actually showed the inside of the sheds. Gives me some ideas for myself. My parents and I have talked about moving to a bigger house in a few years (We currently share it with a friend and her 3 kids), and I’ve been thinking about having my own little casita in the backyard (housing permits pending) with at least a small kitchen countertop, mini fridge, and space for my computer. This gave me so many ideas based on the interiors of those sheds, and possibly save some money for building it

Home Depot, as well as Menards, and Lowe's offer kits for building your own full size homes, ( remember you are in Georgia and you need a basement to shelter from tornadoes in) at reasonable prices so when you get your land, that's an option to explore.

Guys, you can live in a tiny home on wheels that is 8 by 16 for $20.k with shower sink toilet and water heater. Counter and cabinets. You do all the extra options and trims. Insulation is done a storage loft. Same company has cargo containers. I prefer the second red shed because of lofts. I would put in stairs or ladder that fits into ceiling of loft and pulls down. I have seen sheds the size of larger yellow that has one large loft and stairs.

I like the idea of combining. In some states particularly Florida I believe folks have zoned them over 470-500 Sq ft by combining them with a landing over head the two with patio in between. Long as there wasn't two ovens/kitchens. As suggested by the town itself to get it zoned. Problem is a lot of folks run into is where can they put it legally. Mortgages can be tricky to in some Instances with prefab discrepancies. Though most of us watching this know these hurdles already.

That small one has plenty of room. Be a cute efficiency place with mini fridge , one of those 10 n one multi purpose cooking oven,airfryer, rotisserie etc, with burner on top. You could do compst toilet & small shower . There's ALOT of amazing clothing storage options.

I would do the land first, making sure you can build tiny home on it without any legal issues due to building regulations. My favorite was yellow first, red shed, second choice. I would use the green shed as an add-on bathroom, with a slipper tub, compost toilet and a repurposed dresser/sink. Add a closet on one wall for clothes and supplies. If room available, I do a stack compact washer and dryer too. Use loft for living room/tv and put in a big window for views, plus a small wood pellet stove there...add a sofa bed or murphy bed. On main floor, do a long fold down dining table, a long counter for stovetop, microwave, apartment size side by side frig and freezer. Do long sturdy shelves for pantry storage under loft floor to look like beams, but with a hidden hinged box type design in beams as well as steps to loft, for additional storage. I wood put a wood cooking stove in kitchen and add an electric heater stove in bathroom, to heat it up occasionally. By making loft livingroom/bedroom...you get more main floor living space and can use that for family dinners.

I had a Murphy bed in a studio apt. It was great. It was my husband ,cat, and me. I loved it!!!!!

Get the double decker. You'll have to insulate as well, heat and cooling will be a bear without it.

I would buy the cute green one then open doors on either end or two doors in the corner across from the door (that I would keep, btw, great for summer) then add two other sheds...one for bedroom and one for bathroom...or bathroom door at the corner at the end of the kitchen and bed on other end by front door. So many possibilities...!

Well I am in the process of getting two 10X12 Tuff sheds, one is a private bedroom, the other a kitchen. I have a sweet antique wardrobe in my bedroom, and a full bed and a screened off composting toilet. The kitchen has a sweet sink, with a countertop set on top of an antique desk that has plenty of drawers. I have a really lovely table, a big pantry cabinet and a repurposed office desk, with a nice niche and glass cabinet on top. There's space for a coffee bar. It's just me, and I'm enjoying the process of learning tiny living. It's a major difference from 6 children in a 5,000 sq foot monster of a house. Small is so much less work!! LOL

They have Murphy beds that when put up have shelves or even a sofa attached. When folded down it is part of the support of the bed. The way they fold down u do not need to remove the items off the shelves.

Piece of advice , before you purchase a shed make sure you aren’t in area that doesn’t require permits more like a residential area , I’m having a hard time now due to that because you have to pull for many permits particularly on septic tank properties , two cents on the sheds .

I see so much potential with these sheds and living in them can be comfortable with full kitchens, full bathroom plenty of storage and even a cozy living room and bedroom. Especially on the first shed.

You can get a trailer and they are already all wired and plumbed with all the amenities plus you can hook them directly to solar. In a lot of times you can find people giving away trailers for free plus they're already insulated. I've been living in an old Fleetwood mallard year 2000 for 7 years now it's the best move I ever made. You should get it inspected first. the 10x12 is 100% livable with washer dryer dishwasher but some prior hand wash dishes for extra space , but i know a few couples that live in 10x12's beds up top building like a loft type thing closet underneath single sofas single tv it's 100% doable in positive y'all could do it 😹

It will cost at least $10,000 to get connected to the sewer and have water ran. Considering doing this for an Airbnb in the back of the house. My guess is it would cost $50k to finish it fully finished and connected to power, water and sewer and have heating and a small water heater. Would probably pay for itself in 2 years though if you rented it on Airbnb in the right area.

Am I missing the mention of a bathroom? Do you need a dishwasher and big oven? Shower, toaster/microwave combo, countertop stove, muti-purpose furniture. ANYTHING is possible if you want to really do it.

Unfortunately, in some states, it is illegal to like in a shed. These sheds are not built to housing code. Even a few grand later, it’s still a shed. Great for a camp cabin though!

Build something out of ICF. Do a DIY thing. By the time you were done building the structure, including insulation, you would probably be in the same place, financially. You would actually have a structure that was worth living in and structurally sound. Plus, you would easily be able to meet code. Converting a shed to a house may be difficult to meet code. Steer clear of container homes.

Storage containers are great however you need to know what chemicals where shiped in it from oversea. That is a must....and again a must to check with zoning....

Have you looked at Lowes? Lowes has a has a 20' X 8' that you might want to look at. You might want to check out Amish Yard as they have large sheds. Just a thought. Hope you find what you are looking for.

Get a Tuff Shed. They're built solid as a brick shit house with some cool security features available. They aren't the cheapest sheds but their quality is superior. For example, I'm 250 lbs and I can hang and swing on the door with zero damage. Try that on a Home Depot shed. We've had our Tuff Shed for almost a decade, used the hell out of it and it's in every bit as good a shape as it was when it was built. If you go the container route make sure you do it right. Do your research! You don't simply dig a hole and bury your container, if you're going the more bunker route. You have to reinforce the side walls or it will eventually collapse. Either are a very economical way to go for a dwelling. I just bought some turf and I'm going to build a small bug out kind of community with a "neighborhood" of 10x20 Tuff Sheds. A buddy of mine did it with three Tuff Sheds finished out pretty nice and completely off grid. It cost him about $18k per shed all said and done. Tuff Shed also offers a lot more sizes and options. Give em a look before you buy.

Have you seen the A Frame tiny home in Minnesota? You don't know what a tiny home is. Are you talking regular size appliances? Have you watch Tiny Nation. Those guys are really innovative and have some very nice tiny homes that they created. The Murphy bed is a good idea but that loft could be awesome...The yellow one is the best to me.

In 2015 my hubby and I built our tiny home. It is 14 x 32 with a loft for storage. It is perfect for us and our mini. schnauzer. We have never had a regret for going tiny. Love Y'alls Videos❗🙏♥️

Do the math on the payoff. Many times the per month price is cheap, but by the time you pay it off, you would have doubled the cost or more of the shed. It may be cheaper to build one with better materials.

Not sure how cold it gets where you are but here in MN you would have to add a lot of insulation to those sheds to survive. The yellow one seems like it would work best.

You could go smaller if you used the multi-use gadgets like a table that folds down against the wall or something that is one thing, but can be converted and use as something else

If I were to do something like this, I'd be as practical as I could be. If you get something too small, eventually, and I doubt it would be long, you'll regret the purchase and wish you have gotten more room for your money. If you did this right, it could eventually become a guest house for you, so, get the right size to fit everything you need. You said how you would live in a smaller space, you didn't say you wanted to live on practically nothing. Have the necessities, you'll be glad you did it that way.

I could totally see living in the one with the "door". You can have a stove, toilet, shower, sink etc. You have to think multiuse for everything. The ones with a loft, you make it the the upstairs. Extend the loft floor and have stairs going up.
