Well done on the slabbed Weird Science issue...I actually had a copy given to me by an uncle back in 67 if I recall correctly...sadly lost in subsequent house moves or loaned out and never returned .. not quite the Harvey / Gold Key stuff I was used to back then..

Wow, jumping right into the deep end with the quality pre-code pick-ups! Awesome pickups and yeah, that Crime SuspenStories cover creep factor is off the charts. As the other fellow said, keeping books raw so you can leaf through them on the occasion is a good thing!

Yeah I gotta slow down and luckily the pre-code prices will help me with that lol. Some of the more macabre covers have a lot of gore but I love the creep factor too. And I think I am going to keep this raw for just that reason! Thanks for watching and commenting!

Awesome unboxing video, Brandon. Love getting to see so many great additions to your PC. Glad to see your Daredevil #2 made it safe from the dreaded manila envelope incident. The Crime Suspenstories #24 is truly a macabre and grisly cover. Absolutely horrifying cover but man is it wonderful. What I find funny about some precode horror books (even other GA) is that sometimes covers have nothing to do with any story inside. I find that comical but a very telling truth that PCH is sometimes collecting for the cover. Not a modern collector myself but the DHP was a really cool cover to me. Then there is the Wally Wood cover I could talk about all day. Such a Historic book.... Thanks for sharing and happy you completed your side quest!

Weird Science 19 is a great cover and shows how great an artist Wally Wood was. Science fiction covers don’t get better than this. Great pick up Brandon! Looks like you have another genre to collect in now!😂

Good Morning Brandon Ah! What a fine hand of comics! What a fine hand of history, what you said in your interview is so true, Really I think it may be the best hand of comics so far! And you are a Ray Bradbury fan, fantastic! I first read him when I was a kid, and he reached out and dragged me in. He was a true master, and obvoiusly Wallace Wood was a huge fan. Wallace hated his name shortened to Wally they say. The two gentlemen still are number one on my list of all time greats. I have never been a huge horror guy but always go week at the knees for a great Rocket ship cover. Great you have those comic relationships. Nice books, DD 2 is a goal for me as early FF character appearance. I did pursue a few early DD books a while back but had a couple of purchases (not DD 2) I had to return because of missing pages or other undisclosed things. I took it as a sign 🛑 stick to your goals and hold off on DD. Congrats on the DD pickups and progress toward completing your goal.

I'm very grateful for the networking within the comic book community. those DD2's are out there and prices have dropped so go get you one! For it being not even halfway through the year I feel I've stuck to my goals pretty well so the pre-code just distracted me a little. II do think you'll find the lower FF before I do lol. You went beast mode on that haul! The Weird Science book is a great piece of history, owning a rare book like that to me falls under "owning for preservation." Admire and keep it safe! Wally Wood's art was decades ahead of its time. I'm the Alien/Predator guy and I didn't even know about that Dark Horse Presents! It's on my list now, the premise sounds perfect for our favorite trophy hunter 💀 Congrats on Daredevil 2! Such a huge key but that cover is pure eye candy to me, especially with the Nic Cage revelation 😂 As a viewer, I know a video is top tier when it makes me want to go and learn more about a book and add something to my wishlist. Awesome video! 🎉

Haha, you aren’t wrong. This was many weeks of gathering and setting aside to (hopefully) make an impactful video. Definitely a preservation effort with the weird science. I can’t stop staring at that cover and admiring what Wally would could do! I’m shocked YOU didn’t know about that predator comic. Maybe we haven’t because as Bigby said, it really is THAT rare. I’m actually down to needing just one Daredevil book to complete 1-10, just insane and if Nick Cage ever plays Electro we’ll know why lol. @@Moncomics In the 90s, Dark Horse stopped writing Predator stories in roughly the mid-90s. I'm sure fans like me didn't even realize they were still publishing short stories in Dark Horse Presents which, as Bigby said, had small print runs by the late 90s. You made a solid observation, with Disney owning the IP, that story will never be published again outside of the print run you have. It's time for me to don my optical camouflage and sharpen my wristblades. The hunt is on for that book... LOL

Man, that Weird Science is a beautiful book! Great grab. And just to touch on what you were saying about the less than great packaging on your Daredevil- why?? Why oh why does it always seem like the bigger books can be the crappy packaged ones? I’ve received a pile of $2 filler that’s packed up like Ft Knox, but bigger books sent in manilla envelopes no bag bent in my mailbox more than once. I just don’t get it!

I think the weird science was my favorite of this haul too! And my guess is that the guy doesn’t sell comics often so he just threw it up there. But still, he knew it had value and there are many great packaging tutorials right here on KZfaq lol. Thanks as always for watching, Pam!

Very cool books. I like the Crime in Suspenstories book . Golden age horror is just awesome details and beautiful artwork. I just got some awesome horror comics and magazine. Creepy #2 , New independent series lycan #1 and #2, and Marvel comics supernatural thrillers #2. Do you ever think of the comic spa if he can fix it?

The "Lycan" book has particularly caught my interest. And I definitely have thought about sending it to Jeff to see what he could improve, however I think the tear and tape damage is done. Awesome books. Issue 5 of Daredevil shouldn't be to hard to find, it's has a pin up in it that most people took out. Mine is a 5.0. Happy hunting.
