Price? I'm certainly no expert but I'm thinking a lot has to do with where you're buying the bike. One of the mods a ton of people do is adding Cobra pipes and performance electronics. Since this bike doesn't have those, I'm going to guess the price was $5700. Am I close?

In your opinion is the Honda Gold Wing a good bike to flip
@JonsMotoGarage
@JonsMotoGarage 5 жыл бұрын
I can't speak to the full touring goldwing, cause I've never flipped one. The f6b market is pretty weak these days. I've had my 2013 black f6b (only 1800 miles) listed for a few months now and there hasn't been much activity. I sold a red one with higher miles last yr and it went fast. And of course price plays a huge factor. Apparently I over paid for mine even though it's the best priced bike in this area. Sorry I couldn't be of more help on this one. In general, the higher value bikes ($8k +) seem to take a bit longer to sell unless you have it priced below market value (which means you have to pick it up dirt cheap). Good luck, and keep me posted!

@@swaggalikechrist I gotcha! If you're fairly disciplined and respect the machine, I think you could safely learn on the fury. It sits nice and low to the ground and is very well balanced. That is one of the big things that stands out compared to some of the Harleys - lots of the metrics feel "cheap" for lack of better word, due to the plastic pieces. I understand it keeps weight/costs down, but results in a different ride/feel. I hear ya there for sure!

3:38 very very smooth? you mean very very slow. now i realize you have a child in the back, but still. jump on the vrod and open it up, even a little. it's also very very smooth, but that won't be the first thing you notice about it, lol. fury is a nice bike, nicer than any v twin yamaha, but there are better ones out there, and they are not hard to find. my 2.

I've never gotten my hands on a vrod, but have heard good things about them. I don't think the fury is necessarily a bike someone gets if they're looking for crazy speed and performance. Like you say, there are lots of other vtwin options for that (road star warrior would be my go to "performance cruiser" with the vtx 1800 f close behind). However, the fury is great for those who dig the chopper look. Thanks for checking out the vid!

@@kuzmikval I hear you there. Out of curiosity, what were some of the flaws you encounteres? I'll admit I avoid the road stars older than 08 mostly due to the carbs vs fuel injection. I think they should've gone to fuel injection a lot earlier. I've bought and sold a lot of road stars and always found them to be a lot of bike for the money. I haven't put tons of miles on them though, so I can't speak to that side of things. I always appreciate the insights and perspective from someone who actually put some time on the seat. Thanks for sharing!

@@JonsMotoGarage the biggest one was the knock in the engine, I adjusted the valve clearance, and it didn't help. Then there was the rattling, in the head light, and in the exhaust. Then there was the constant having to adjust the belt tension, because the belt would rub against the guard, due to the lack of tensioner. Yamaha went back you the ancient harley design of air cooled, underhead valve, push rod, single carb technology. Why, no one knows. They know how to build good bikes, this is why i didn't event question the name. Hard to check oil level, hard to change oil, with the 2 oil plugs, one being in a difficult place to access. I was able to sell it for the same money I bought for, but never again. If you wanna know more, there is a forum on roadstarclinic.com These people love their bikes, and they will tell you how to remedy some of these problems, but they will admit to the fact that this bike has issues.

@@JonsMotoGarage I would love for them to put a VTX engine into the fury frame, VTX 1300 really needs EFI but other than that, SIGN me UP! especially if they made the frame accommodate a VTX1800. it would be my last bike ever, most likely. low sleek, powerful, and a nice thick rumble.

Actually it is. The VTX1300 became VT1300C in 2010. The Fury is a VT1300CX. Released in 2010. They utilized the see engine with a few tweaks.

Thanks! I'm aware it's not the same as the previous year vtx 1300 and 1800 models. However, it is technically still a vtx. The model name is "VTX1300CX Fury," with vtx being short for "v-twin extreme."

I'm starting to see a lot more Furys on the road now and although it's supposed to be a "custom factory chopper", they still all look the same. Most people but the same accessories on them after they get them. The "special custom" air cleaner mod with the big spike sticking out (ya, that looks real cool) and them curved down pipes that scrape the pavement when you lean too far to the right? Ya, nice touch. They pretty much all look the same. Even most of the videos here on KZfaq show the same mods being done, so what is "custom" about any of them? Nothing. A custom chopper is built, that's where a chopper comes in, it's CHOPPED! The lack of chrome makes the Fury look so cheap in my book. Where's the chrome? The blacked out look is really getting carried away with all the new vehicles too. I mean, STOP already. It looks like shit! I'm thinking most of todays crowd just wants to just go out and buy stuff already built for them. Take pride in your ride! Now load it up on a trailer (hey, i's not a Harley! You can ride it home!!) and take pride in your factory "chopper" thingy.OK, I'm done with my rant. Have fun on your bike and ride safe.

Hahaha...I hear ya, man! But you have to remember: the spike adds 1 extra hp, plus 6 extra points for the cool factor, whilst the curved pipes save lives by creating sparks as the metal grinds against the asphalt. It's all purpose built! Hahaha. Jk. Thanks for watching and commenting! I welcome the rant any day!

I've been riding for 50 years now as I've seen (and done) a lot of the same crap I see riders doing today, but on a different level I guess. I've put accessories on bikes that I thought would be cool, but actually made them dangerous to ride in some cases. Now I do my research first before under taking a project, to not see who likes the product (thanks to online reviews now days) and if it's all it's cracked up to be. Some of the " performance mods" actually lower the power instead of increasing it In some cases. Looking cool only goes so far, and if your pipes scrape the pavement and you highside on a corner, then, I guess you don't look so cool after all! Once young and dumb, I'm now older and hopefully wiser. I'm much more practical now with my ride and I'm not so much into turning heads to show off. My bike is comfortable and the chrome is shiny and it's the way I like it. My bike is for ME, not THEM! You need to stay grounded when you start customizing a bike. When you pay $400 - $600 for an accessory, is it to make your bike better? Or is it just to turn someone ELSES head? Big price to pay to make someone look at you! Enjoy your ride and ride safe!

@@spanky522 my thoughts exactly. Personally, I'm too big a cheapskate to purchase aftermarket mods. I'm always looking for deals and getting stuff that other people have dumped money into. With that being the case, I don't always get my ideal set up, but beggars can't be choosers. Lol.

I hear ya. I've got shelves of parts and after market accessories out in the shop that I got good deals on. Some of them actually fit and I've used on some of my bikes. I keep stuff thinking one day I may use it on other bikes I'm building or just give to someone who could use it. I kept one of those chrome barb wire license plate frames and ended up using it for a picture frame! Hey, it looks better on the wall then it did on a bike! Gotta think out of the box sometimes!
