Byrna called me! + 2nd repair on LE + Shooting!

After attempting to repair my Byrna myself I received a call from Byrna offering to repair it! It is under warranty but wanted to try on my own first! This video covers my 2nd attempt to repair and some test shooting!

Byrna seems to be a stand up company. Any self defense product can fail. That's why it's best to really test them thoroughly after receiving them. If they perform well for a few hundred shots then you didn't get a lemon. Never just buy and put it away in a drawer thinking it's going to defend you. Whether a firearm or launcher, they need a little inspection and lubing from the get go. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Congrats on the repair. Couldn’t have done it better myself. This video will be great reference for anyone who experiences a similar issue. I do appreciate that these manufacturers watch our KZfaq videos. It tells me they are looking out to make improvements to their products or quality control. Issues are prevalent across all platforms and all manufacturers, no one is perfect. Look forward to the side by side comparison.

I think it is exceptional they reached out to me when they saw their oversight when building the launcher it really shows they are committed to customer service and quality control. Glad Byrna stood behind the product. I have the same LE configuration you have with the Mercy-Iess-Lethal barrel and extension. I really like your kinetic ball trap. Could you elaborate on its design. Seems to be very efficient. I'd like to copy your design with your approval of course. Small, compact, and to the point!

My trap is actually a half ass design 😂. I purchased a heavy plastic storage tote from Lowes and spray glued a 3” piece of foam to the bottom. I have several layer of fabric screwed in with hex head screws to a board, I drilled holes on the sides and top of the tote to screw the board to the tote.The tote just free stands but I have shot right through it several times so you have to make sure you gave a strong background. Definitely less than ideal!

New out of the box mine failed to fire. Last dollar Byrna will ever see from this household. Was ready to equip most of the family with them.

Hopefully moving forward this will be done at tge factory by Byrna. It seems as though this is a common problem that has been creeping up more and more. I wont say its an essy fix, but its an easy solution. Thanks for putting the time into showing us.

I'm afraid to buy a byrna just because it cost to much to take a risk, I seen umarex have there issues too but I rather spend 1 hundred to $200 then 3 to $500, I bought 4 air guns over time so far, 2 from mercury rise, 1 umarex compact which is the weakest and a streetwise heat wave, all 50 cal, I had to test them each time I got one to make sure it didn't leak or jam otherwise which ever one failed I'll send back!

I actually had to send mine back for a different reason.. the gun would not hold air after shooting some max projectiles. Than it was pissing all of the c02 air out the on all the next times that I tried to try. So sent it back & they told me that it was an internal valve misalignment & sent it back. Since I've got it back the velocity has dropped significantly and when I looked down the barrel I see a blue type of valve at the very back of the launcher anyone with this experience? Should I send it back again? Because this thing says on the website it has better numbers than the TCR yet I'm getting 40 jewels on an extended clip with my TCR consistently using all types of aluminum, rubber steel, and other ride balls all tax drivers!

I ended up having to send my LE back because of loosing air also so I will be interested on what type of power it will have after the repair, I know others here have noticed a drop of fps after repair too. My TCR only offer 20 jewels after cranking up the volume all the way up! If you are getting 40 that is amazing! Thanks for dropping by!

Well I was using 8gm riot balls getting close to 4oofps on the chronograph... So if my calculations are correct it should be getting around 40. Or @ least in the high 3o's

After the second repair I sent it back because the chrony numbers were very low and then they decided to send me a new one which had much better fps than my original when new but it was short lived (2 days) and it blew the valve seal. I returned it and was fixed and sent back however the first shot is around 400 fps and then the fps drops 100 fps on the second and then levels out to the same as my SD. If you scroll my recent videos you will see the LE is a shit show! You are very correct when you say the SD is a beast, it is a solid performer!
