Power is important for sure but so is being able to change out ammo. Devasators, powderballs, and even bolts if you want can be shot with the tr50. Both good defence guns but one with much more versatility.

Either your full size hdp is damaged, your chrono is not working, or your using the wrong ammo because even the standard 7.5 version shoots between 380 and 400 fps. I have one and with rubber or powder rounds I consistently get those numbers. Just sayin...

Hi there! I was using steel core 4 gram projectiles so it does lower the FPS however the first shot (334 fps) is actually over 20 joules!

Your reviews are excellent. I’ll spare you the details, but I’m done with Byrna. I had the LE which failed, was replaced and failed again. Replaced the LE with the SD, and that failed too. So many repairs during all this, many trips to the UPS store to send the models back to Indiana. Reliability is crucial. Imagine being up against a firearm with a Byrna. I’d rather not. Will be looking at the Salt Supply S2.

I feel your pain, they replaced my original failed LE and with in two days the second one failed, when repaired they do not have the same power! The salt S2 is a little harder to conceal and heavier but it offers very reliable and consistent fps and is a work horse at 1/2 the price of a Byrna!

@@airgunnerreviews7888 would you happen to have an answer on the holster? I got an LE coming in soon and I've been prebuying stuff like a dumbass cause I might not be able to send it back... So if you know or know someone that knows what type of holster would be best.. more so with all the attachments because you can buy the SD and you get a pick of the compensator or light and that will be in an LE holster... And because they don't have a pew pew that's a size up... Us LE owners are left to figure stuff out on our own.. which not really a fan of... I got basic knowledge of firearms but I can't look at 3 different versions of a Glock and tell you exactly which one it is

Unfortunately I have not found a holster for conceal carry that I like! The LE is just a little longer than the SD and a belt holster makes it difficult to conceal and I find uncomfortable. The belly band fits snug and sits above the waist line so you can wear normal fitting shirts and not XXL long! You can also have light accessory attached.

I found your videos after experiencing what I now know to be an LE “seal failure,” while attempting to protect my dogs from a coyote attack - not a great time to learn that the “protection” on which I rely is useless. I’d really like to return my LE to its original potential, but I understand, from your videos and comments from others, that asking Byrna to repair it may not yield that result. Can a user replace/repair the seal, on their own? Other suggestions?.

I’m sorry to hear this! My original LE was sent back twice before Byrna sent me a new one which broke in two days! They repaired it but doesn’t have the same power or consistency. I would chronograph the FPS when you receive it to compare with other KZfaq videos. Here is a link to a cheap chronograph I own and it reads very well indoors or shaded ares outdoors, it does have mixed reviews but reads less lethal markers real well and only 39.99! amzn.to/3wGuPDe Good luck!

Thank you for this post. As a woman in Cali, this seems a very strong option right under buying an actual firearm which has its hoops to jump thru. I have someone from my past who recently contacted me, and my gut instincts and this person's behavior, I need something quick just in case. I think this is affordable, consistent, powerful, easily grabbed on Amazon. I think this is the one after much review watching of other less than lethals

I am pretty sure one of the components your are using are not original but rather some aftermarket accessories and that explains the failure. First: Many Dealers make their own burst disks or sell different barrels etc. Joerg Sprave specificially warns NOT TO USE "barrels" and "bullets" with this gun and only use the original arrow launching system and explains why it can fail with aftermarket parts. Second: There are common mistakes made by users e.g. inserting two burstdisks, handling the cartridge wrong, loading the wrong pressure or closing the gun the wrong way but lets assume you did none of those mistakes. Keep in mind that every of those mistakes can lead to failure. Its weird that the spring doesnt come out but that i have never seen reports about that and never had those problems myself with original parts. Its weird that your cartridge seems to be leaking but i also have never seen reports about that and never had those problems myself with original parts. There were issues with the safety on the 1.0 though.

@MWS67 I just found @airgunnerreviews788 videos, because my LE “blew its seal,” while I was actively using it to protect my dogs from a coyote assault. As I’d only ever fired a few practice shots, prior, the failure occurred with only about 40 shots from the launcher. I’m now faced with the prospect of requesting a repair, that will yield sub-par performance, or pitching the LE and buying a SALT or other. Shame that Amazon declares they can’t ship the SALT (launcher, only - no ammo) to my Cali address…

@@ScottishTerror Sorry to hear that. I hope your dog is ok. II had to have my LE replaced right out of the box because it had a bad valve or something. Was only getting 11-12 shots per co2 bottle. The replacement seems to work ok but if it ever fails, I'm done with them. I'm looking at the Huban GK1 .25 cal to replace it.

Obviously you did not understand the video but that is not surprising since your spelling is worse than a 5 year old! I am reviewing two different AEA defender pistols! One that shoots hard rubber kinetic rounds that is considered “less lethal” and the other Defender I clearly identify as “not less lethal”. (watch again with your listening ears) A kindergartener would understand the words “not less lethal” would mean it could kill you! With your level of intelligence perhaps you should stick to watching cartoons.
