Byron Meltdown Drags 07/21/12 part 5

Spent the day at Byron Dragway and saw some amazing cars and had great time!
If you didn't go this year, I have to tell you it is absolutely worth the drive and price of admission! Go as often as you can!
I have more vids coming so hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed shooting them!
I got a different position to vid for the rest of these, about, what, 10 feet from the waterbox, so there are a lot of amazing cars and many burnouts!

We had a Hudson Hornet and in it's Class it was a terror both on the strip and on the street. Ha we did endless burn outs and we all have great memories of our time at various nostalgia drags we participated in. Funny, going home, the handling of our Hudson was BETTER than many cars up the late 90's Thanks for posting!!

*Sure Scott, I'll reply to you, because I want to set the record straight.* *1. What I wrote on this post are some of the Lyric from a Beach Boys Song.* *2. I don'y Know what you are on about when you say, "your the guy that screams old school drag racing."* *Dude I'm 58 years young, when I was growing up Drag racing was very young then. I didn't Race then, for I was a Baby, but I did do some Illegal street Racing though.* *I own a 1988 Corvette. I mostly drive the posted speed limit now, because I want to Live to be 158 years young, ha.* *Now my 88 Corvette is not a Zero to 60 in 3 seconds speed Demon, but it Corners like a Cat on rails.* *When you humans tailgate my Vette, I just relax wait for the next Curve that I have been driving on since I got my first Hot Rod, (which was a 1968 GTO,) well Sir I leave them Tailgaters in dust, and most times my Tires don't even make a sound. My Tires are 10 1/2 inches front & back. I sold the GTO in 1986 to some dude that turned it into a Drag Racer, he said. I never was my GTO on the Race Track* *I'm more a Lover of Curvy roads now. I Love to see how fast I can get my Vette though a Curve without losing control.* *I have only Lost Control of my Vette one time.* *When I first got my Vette I was Drag Racing some young dude on a sport bike up a slight hill into a long sweeping curve. The dude got me on the take off, then for some reason the fool turned into my lane, so to avoid hitting this dumb ass hole I jammed the brakes, the Vette's brakes locked up, and away me and my buddy went into a 360, smoke was everywhere. We ended up on the other side of the street in front of a Funeral home, the engine stalled, and traffic coming up behind us. I got the engine going burned rubber, and got the Hell outta Dodge, also I give that Biker the FINGER, ha(;)* *I bet you won't ask me to reply to you again Scott, haha* *My comment to you was a Fucking Novel(;)*

Sorry guys, I enjoyed seeing all the old style (NHRA Gas/A-?) cars even if they only did a burnout and stagged. Way back when I ran my C/Gas 301 ci 1955 chevy I had a bunch of fun. Didn't win any races except the day I showed up at San Fernando Drag Strip and the only car in my class broke. Still got the trophy and the winner decal . Wish I still had that car.

10:18 during a burnout out out of the water box, not a real good idea. Besides that are they trying to look like they have never been to a dragstrip? You got one guy with damn near flat tires trying to do a burnout, and a handful that drive past the water box and have to back up to it. Its not a real sharp turn but they sure seem to love to take it wide, just because you have to back up to the water box doesnt mean you have a fast car. What exactly was the deal with the guy at 13:20 in the far lane that had to back up and go forward a half dozen times then do a 1/8 mile burnout? Which was next High N Wild car, remember seeing that one fall apart. Its not like these are a bunch of junk or even stock cars and arent meant for drag racing, looks like they all have a gasser front ends but from the sounds of it my motorhome has a stronger motor.

Ive been to a lot of drag racing and the only people that worry about getting their front tires wet are motorcycles. They simply dont know what the fuck they are doing.

Welp...publisher of this gag of a Video is a GM guy...beatifull red and white Ford and a few others and yup...all we see is that GM Garbage and the legends they are in their own minds!!!
